Ah, are we including Advent Children in this category? I thought the Sephiroth fight was passable but I think people like it because it is the dramatic final confrontation, not because of its own qualities (though you may disagree). Personally, I think the fight just prior (against the leader of the silver-haired guys) is much superior in terms of coreography. Another decent battle from that film is the fight in the forest.

I can't remember seeing a better anime composed ending to such a series, so many areas that connected to eachother, even though Raoh was pretty brutal I diden't want either of them to die. Some tears I tell you.

Fist of the North Star. I haven't watched it myself (don't really plan to), but I know enough about it to answer that. XD

Oh, I forgot about that. That was an incredibly fight scene.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Lessee... I always prefer intricate, detailed encounters to flashy, explosion-riddled affairs, so I guess there's not a lot of fights for me to choose from...

The big Spike vs Vicious and Spike vs Vincent battles in Cowboy Bebop have been mentioned several times, and I like Spike's fights with Asimov in the first episode too. Pretty much all the fights in Samurai Champloo are good too.

I notice that no one has mentioned the Coliseum episodes of Kino's Journey. It's hardly an action based anime (in fact, there's probably more fighting in those two episodes than the rest of the series put together), but those few matches are fast, intricate, very cleverly put together and a true wonder to behold.

One series that probably deserves mention is Hunter x Hunter. It goes into extreme strategy and detail, but sometimes this works out very well instead of bogging down the events. For example, Hisoka's fight in the tower is pretty good, and I love how after the fight many details are revealed to be significant (much better than being explained as the fight happens, certainly).

You can relax; it's alright. It's the Do Not Discuss List because people have consistently argued about it in the past, not the Do Not Mention List because those anime are the pure spawn of evil.

i think the fights in the hunter x hunter manga are also very well done. though they are a LOT more graphic than the anime, they are still very intense and well done. sadly, the hunter x hunter manga gets pretty gruesome during the greed island+ arcs...

the spider guy's name (i think you're talking about the guy with super strong physical strength right?) uvogin. that was good stuff. i was also surprised when they actually SHOWED the fight between kurapica and hisoka during the hunter exam. they didn't show it in the manga. too bad they didn't really show hisoka and kastro's fight in the anime. that was pretty good.

I think the funniest fight scene has to go to Samurai Champloo. I'm talking of the episode where a drunken Mugen helps that girl fight off a whole bunch of ninjas. The things people will do for love, huh?

Hunter x Hunter (TV) episode 62, from 1:37 - 2:04, one of the craziest, most fast paced fight scenes i've ever seen. gotta give them some credit for that one. it was pretty nice.

"God the great Creator of all things doth uphold, direct, dispose, and govern all creatures, actions, and things, from the greatest even to the least, by His most wise and holy providence, according to His infallible foreknowledge and the free and immutable counsel of His own will, to the praise of the glory of His wisdom, power, justice, goodness, and mercy."
- Westminister Confession of Faith (Chapter 5, Section 1)

"The wisdom of God has found a way for the love of God to deliver sinners from the wrath of God all the while upholding the righteousness of God!!"
- John Piper

"Grace is the pleasure of God to magnify the worth of God by giving sinners the right and power to delight in God without obscuring the glory of God!"
-John Piper

"The very One from Whom we need to be saved, is the One Who has saved us."
- R.C. Sproul

"All of Christian life is ceaseless worship of God the Father, through the mediatorship of God the Son, by the indwelling power of God the Spirit, doing what God commands in Scripture, not doing what God forbids in Scripture, in culturally contextualized ways, for the furtherance of the Gospel, when both gathered for adoration, and scattered for action, in joyous response to God's glorious grace."
- Mark Driscoll

"Believers do not pray with the view of informing God about things unknown to Him, or of exciting Him to do His duty, or of urging Him as though He were reluctant. On the contrary, they pray in order that they may arouse themselves to seek Him, that they may exercise their faith in meditating on His promises, that they may relieve themselves from their anxieties by pouring them into His bosom; in a word, that they may declare that from Him alone they hope and expect, both for themselves and for others, all good things."
- Martin Luther

"I have to tell you first that I am ready to die. I have put my affairs in order. Your supreme weapon is killing. My supreme weapon is dying, because when you kill me, people all over Romania will read my books and believe on the God that I preach - even more than they do now."
- Dr. Joseph Ton, the exiled Romanian pastor (quoted by James Montgomery Boice)

"The best prayer I ever prayed had enough sin in it to condemn the whole world."
- John Bunyan

"If the Christian has lost sight of Calvary, that shows that he has lost his way."

an excellent fight scene. perfectly suited music. awesome animation. playful mood. what else can someone ask for?

I agree, that's probably in the top ten best HtH anime battles of all time, okay I could go on forever on this topic.

Ahem-
Lynn Minmei vs The Zentradi Fleet-Macross: Do You Remember Love?
THE defining moment of a girl with her magic song to save the world! Minmei stands defianteley against an armada of thousands of starships as Hikaru heads into battle with his VF-1S Super Valkyrie!

Roy Folker/Shin vs The Anti-UN Forces-Macross Zero
VF-0's in glorious CG battle across pacific skies! Sara has unleashed the death song and now mankind trembles as Roy and Shin fight across the skies to save the Mayans.

Fooly Cooly-
Just about everything in here, its very unfortunate the final battle was cut so short, it seemed it ended just as it got good.

Keisuke Takahashi vs God's Foot-Initial D
"God's Foot" strange name for an opponent eh? But he's not known as a master of throttle control for nothing. Keisuke in his RX7-FD races against his opponents GTR-34, as the GTR begins to lose grip God's Foot resorts to drifting to block the road, leading to a drift vs drift battle of uber-awesomeness!

Saya vs Diva-Blood Plus
I'd just like to say this was the most dissapointing final battle ever. Production IG took a series I greatly admired and tossed it down the tube for the final battle, all we got from the queens of the vampires were twitchy, static lunges here and there as they put no effort into this fight at all.

Spike vs Viscious-Cowboy Be-you should already know!

EVERY SINGLE FIGHT-Le Chevalier D'eon
Every single sword fight in D'eon has been of the highest quality EVER seen in an anime tv series. I'll say it, and KENSHIN FANS DON'T BE TOO UPSET!!! But the sword duels in this tv series put even "Trust and Betrayel" to shame, THERE I SAID IT ALRIGHT DON'T KILL ME!!

Alrighty then!

You can't delete your own posts, actually. What you did was the right thing: edit the post and someone like me will come along to get rid of it.
