About Me.....

Postby Zarn Ishtare » Mon Apr 24, 2006 11:02 am

Well, I'm not up to a thousand posts yet, I haven't celebrated any major life goal accomplishments, and I'm most certainly not a Mafia Chaplain, but here's a couple of things about me...

I like using random French and Japanese in conversation. However, since my knowledge of French is about as expansive as the good dub section in the 4Kids library, I usually just get by with using Mais, non as a retort when someone says something less than intelligent. I also include japanese words in my poems, and sometimes sign my name with the kanji for wolf, though I'm attempting to track down a specific combination of kanji that would produce "Cry of The Lone Wolf" or "Lone Wolf Who Cries"...no sucess on that, but oh well. I've got a few books on/about the Japanese language, both written and spoken, so I'll get it eventually.

I like to duel with Bokkon (Bokkan? Bokkun? No, I think it's Bokkon). I'm not traditionally schooled, but I do alright. I managed to go toe to toe with a friend of mine who trains with a traditional sensei (She studies Ninjitsu). Of course, if we were using real blades, she would have shanked my ankles and had me down in about five moves, but since the blades were wood...

I study theology and philosophy. I also like to sit around and "think" (Which usually involves me with a soda watching TV, and then suddenly getting up, writing something down, then watching tv again) alot, so I've got ideas on all sorts of things....

I love Chinese and Mexican food. But not together. I also like Italian.

I like Celtic music. I also like Classic Rock, Alternative, and plenty of hard or melodious rock/metal.

Favorite Musicians/Artists, Favorite Songs:

Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band: "Hollywood Nights", though anything from him is good.

Joe Cocker: "I Get By With Alittle Help From My Friends" is absolute classic. Want a major headtrip? Listen to the Woodstock version on a sugar high. A Bawls inspired sugar high. Trust me, you will see the "colors" after that.

Black Label Society: "In This River"....Good song, plain and simple.

Kansas: "Dust In The Wind" CLASSIC goodness.

Johnny Cash: Too many to name, though "Man In Black" is still a close favorite.

Jim Croce: "New York's Not My Home". Good for anyone who feels far from home.

And my top current favorite Band/Artist/Musician.....

Counting Crows: "Long December", "Daylights Fading", and "She Don't Want Nobody Near" are my top songs from them of all time. Good stuff, pure and simple.

So? Ask me some questions! I'll be sure to answer (Or tactically avoid) your questions promptly! 'Cus you know, I'm really not doing anything.... :dizzy:

Oo! You like Celtic! ^_^

Are there any Celtic bands or musicians that you particularly like? And are you into the traditional, new age, rock, folk or punk forms of Celtic?

*is obsessed with Celtic music*

To your first question? Clannad, Enya, and a few others...I'll name a few when I can track down some of the more traditional artists.

To your second...I like the song "And if I should Fall From Grace" But my main focus is Traditional, Folk, and New Age (Though honestly, give me some fiddle and the pipes and I'm happy)

I also like dragons. Blue ones.

AND WOLVES! BWAHAHA!

"Sometimes we don't present the Gospel well enough for the non-elect to reject it."
- John MacArthur

"In the total expanse of the human life, there is not a single square inch of which Christ, who alone is sovereign, does not declare, 'That is mine'."
- Abraham Kuyper

"God the great Creator of all things doth uphold, direct, dispose, and govern all creatures, actions, and things, from the greatest even to the least, by His most wise and holy providence, according to His infallible foreknowledge and the free and immutable counsel of His own will, to the praise of the glory of His wisdom, power, justice, goodness, and mercy."
- Westminister Confession of Faith (Chapter 5, Section 1)

"The wisdom of God has found a way for the love of God to deliver sinners from the wrath of God all the while upholding the righteousness of God!!"
- John Piper

"Grace is the pleasure of God to magnify the worth of God by giving sinners the right and power to delight in God without obscuring the glory of God!"
-John Piper

"The very One from Whom we need to be saved, is the One Who has saved us."
- R.C. Sproul

"All of Christian life is ceaseless worship of God the Father, through the mediatorship of God the Son, by the indwelling power of God the Spirit, doing what God commands in Scripture, not doing what God forbids in Scripture, in culturally contextualized ways, for the furtherance of the Gospel, when both gathered for adoration, and scattered for action, in joyous response to God's glorious grace."
- Mark Driscoll

"Believers do not pray with the view of informing God about things unknown to Him, or of exciting Him to do His duty, or of urging Him as though He were reluctant. On the contrary, they pray in order that they may arouse themselves to seek Him, that they may exercise their faith in meditating on His promises, that they may relieve themselves from their anxieties by pouring them into His bosom; in a word, that they may declare that from Him alone they hope and expect, both for themselves and for others, all good things."
- Martin Luther

"I have to tell you first that I am ready to die. I have put my affairs in order. Your supreme weapon is killing. My supreme weapon is dying, because when you kill me, people all over Romania will read my books and believe on the God that I preach - even more than they do now."
- Dr. Joseph Ton, the exiled Romanian pastor (quoted by James Montgomery Boice)

"The best prayer I ever prayed had enough sin in it to condemn the whole world."
- John Bunyan

"If the Christian has lost sight of Calvary, that shows that he has lost his way."
- J.I. Packer[/SIZE]

have you ever tried to learn to use the Shiao Lin (Oh I just KNOW I probably misspelled that) staff? it is very usefull in practicing your techniques because when you make even a slight mistake with a staff, you will most likely get hit with the other end of the staff. It sure helps me to remember to be carefull when I am twirling around my body. *rubs back of head while remembering that one day* XD. but seriously. what other weapons are you familliar with?
