Hm, even the Delux Pack is only 40M. I will have to try this out, as it seems to be interesting and it isn't too often you find a game with much content that is actually free.

I will attest that the game is simply GREAT. It's a real charm. Great music, solid gameplay. Lots of secrets. Simply amazing.

Cave story is my favorite freeware game of all time. Ever. Possibly my favorite game, period. It's incredible ^^ I must have played through at least 20 times, now. The secret ending is so rewarding.

Started playing yesterday. Reminds me alot of those old Freeware games I played on some CD, only much, much better.

It also seems there's a possibility of the game coming to PSP. o.O

When you're playing the game, always keep in mind that every single byte of code, right down to the music, was programmed by ONE MAN.

It took him FIVE YEARS to complete it. I wish I had that much patience...

Variant Interactive announced on 27 March 2006 that they were developing a version of Doukutsu Monogatari for the PSP. However, shortly after the announcement, Pixel himself said that he had not given them permission to develop a port, and the status of the project is currently unknown. The lead manager at Variant says he is still discussing terms with Pixel.

There is, however, a homebrew port of Cave Story in progress for the Game Boy Advance, which has received Pixel's official blessing to go forward.

Yeah, I was sort of thinking it would have worked better on GBA, anyways, so that sounds pretty good (I might even think of getting it if it comes around here, if that's possible).
