Showing Attention

"When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, 'Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.'"
Luke 19:5

People want to know that you are concerned about them and the best way to convey this is to give them your undivided attention.

Mamie Adams always went to a branch post office in her town because the postal employees there were friendly. She went there to buy stamps just before Christmas one year and the lines were particularly long. Someone pointed out that there was no need to wait in line because there was a stamp machine in the lobby. "I know," said Mamie, 'but the machine won't ask me about my arthritis."

While we have much in this life to make things more convenient, nothing will every take the place of the human touch and our attention.

Prayer: Ask God to help you be attentive to those around you.

"Attention is like a daily bouquet of love."
~Bob Keeshan, "Captain Kangaroo"
