Flcl

Hey! I taped this off Adult Swim Saturday and it was awesome! It was about the same level of confusing as the manga. I found Haruko's voice rather annoying at first though. The "native girl" line was rather grating.
Anyways, I loved it otherwise. Aparently it's uncut. Hooray! The "DBZ dub" has made me rather, shall we say, mistrustful of dubbers. Don't worry, Gen should be getting out of the hospital soon...
It's too bad my 10-year-old little brother was sitting next to me during the "fooly cooly discussion scene".
How 'bout every week we post about the new ep? Just a thought.
Think happy thoughts.

Yeah I've seen all of them, I just wish the show would've been a bit longer like maybe by two or four episodes or so. I love it, never read the manga for this one though, I do like how they insert some images from the manga in the show. The South Park spoofs are also hillarious too. Great animation too. I think they are going to air episode 2 : Firestarter this coming saturday.

Meh... FLCL is, um... it's a bit over the top... It's like the latter half of Excel Saga, rather than the first half. I'm not all that fond of Gainax, but FLCL is a sight to behold...

I taped the episode Sat. night too, and found it to be really weird too. It looks like there may be an interesting story though, so I'll probably tape a few more before passing judgement.

yeah...saterday night I stayed up late watching all adult swim. I watched flcl, wondering how good it would be. I had heard bad things about it, but much to mu surprise, it was funny. A bit confusing, but nothing more watching it couldn't solve for me. I will be watching it every saterdays now. I recommend it to peeps who love laugh your head off anime/manga

Yeah, they're showing FLCL Saturdays at 12:00 and 3:00 until there are no eps left. I'm taping the entire thing (there are only 12 episodes from what I've heard) and lending it out to friends at school. =) What better way to break anime-deprived people to anime than FLCL?

Actually, the manga was based on the anime. It says "story by Gainax" on the cover. The 'dinner table scene' wasn't even in the manga. But some other, umm, 'interesting' things tool place in the manga but not in the anime. Sadly, they did not include South Park spoofs. =(

Somehow, the shot of Mamimi's writing on her cigarette ('NEVER KNOWS BEST') as she sat by the side of the bridge, smoking in the dark, waiting for her Takkun, while that awesome music played (thank you Pillows!), just made me say, "Wow. This is really good." My brother looked at me oddly. =)

amen :thumb:

The music, the animation, and the symbolism. All these work perfectly together to make Flcl, the coolest show ever.

Maybe not the best, but the coolest!

Furi Kuri, in my mind will always be one of those few insane lumps of coal that get smashed together just right to make a pretty nice gem.

"I think the mistake a lot of us make is thinking the state-appointed psychiatrist is our 'friend."
Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.
- J. Hudson Taylor
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

After two episodes, I'll keep taping and watching it, maybe rent it some time in the future. Don't think it will go on my "to buy" list though.
