Anime that made you cry the most

Postby Haibane Shadsie » Sat Apr 03, 2004 7:57 pm

Kind of a spinoff of the "Saddest Moments in Anime" topic.

What anime series or movies made you cry a lot?

My most cried-over anime is Haibane Renmei. I cried almost through the whole series when watching it for the first time. Watching some episodes again still gets me misty. I have never cried so much over an anime - but I loved it. It was sad in an absolutely beautiful way.

I've never cried over an anime, though the ending to Cowboy Bebop made me angry :stressed: and sad :( for a couple weeks!

P.S. I've been wanting to check out Haibane for awhile now. I should pick it up.

Either Now and Then, Here and There or Trigun, but Trigun was twice as long and had twice the opportunities.

Heh, me too. Not very much, but something about that whole 'we've made it this far together and this is the final straw of it' mood about the endings is always tear-jerking to me for some reason...

But what probably takes the cake for me is Totoro... when I was little I sobbed and sobbed during that movie... >.>

Yeah, I know what you mean about the "we've gone so far together" episode, Cobalt. Those really touch the emotions ... for some anyway.

Ok, I've never "cried" watching an anime, but I have misted over, and for a form of entertainment to touch me deep enough to trigger the tears ... well, it's a feat to say the least. So here are the titles that made my vision all watery, in order of mist amount:

A Little Snow Fairy Sugar (stop laughing!!)
Saint Tail (The end was so ... so ... *sighs*)
Scrapped Princess (the final episode really got me)
Angelic Layer (towards the end of the series, there were some pretty moving moments)

Ok ... enough confessions from me. :eyeroll:

I bawled through the last TV episode of Ranma 1/2 (and I still cry during the orchestral version of the Ballad of Ranma and Akane -- the choral interlude where the people in their lives echo the verse always gets me ... darn it, I'm misting up already).

I cried during Gundam Wing a few times. ^_^ And I cried in the episode of Sailor Moon called Treed. It remains my favorite episode. Moonlight Knight kicks butt.

OMG!! I cried sooooooooooo badly during one of the Sailor Moon movies!!! LOL!! Me and my old best friend called each other when it was on Cartoon Network and we watched it "together" and I cried!! It was touching when it showed how Sailor Moon changed each of the other scouts' lives and then they were all, "Ahhh!! We gotta help her!!"

Like some of the other people. I don't exactly cry at anime, but it's a big thing if you can actually get me misty-eyed.

Here are mine:

Rurouni Kenshin 2nd OAVs (Reflections) --- IT AIN'T SO!! SAY IT AIN'T SO!!!
Now and Then Here and There (specific parts)

I think there are several others that I'm just forgetting right now. ^^ I'll get back to you.

Spoilerized Cowboy Bebop comments by Hikari-chan. Not much of an issue.

I can't think of any anime that made me cry at the moment (note that I have nothing against crying, I simply don't). Naruto got close during the Land of the Waves saga when Zabuza says "Kid... you don't have to say anymore." I can't think of anything else.

I have never cried during an anime, although I have come close on a few occasions.

[spoiler=Galaxy Express 999]I probably would have cried at the part where the kid's mother died...[/spoiler]

...if no one else was in the room at the time. ;)

[spoiler=Rurouni Kenshin]I almost cried during the episode with the old fisherman. He goes on a quest for 21 years, and all that time a girl was waiting for him, but she died a year before he returned.[/spoiler]

And finally, I came close a few time during Berserk, because it is filled with incredibly tragic stories...

[spoiler=Berserk]...and it doesn't help that most of the characters die in the last episode.[/spoiler]

I cry a lot in movies and anime... probably because it is a good venting point for not being able to cry as much in some of the really painfull things in life... Everyone needs to cry.

Grave of the Fireflies (need I say more)

Sailormoon ep 45 twice... Once when [button="spoiler"]Makoto dies[/button] and then once when [button="spoiler"]Rei dies[/button] Everything else was sad in that ep, but those two events took the cake... Then

Sailormoon ep 46 I cried when [button="Spoiler"]Mamoru died[/button] I must have watched that scene 100 times, and listened to her cry out every time... Made it kind of pathetic when [button="spoiler"]Metalia killed off Beryl[/button] Felt no pity whatsoever.

I cried when i learned that [button="Nadesico spoiler"]Gai was really dead...[/button] Me and my friend both believe it couldn't be true (we only had teh first tape, so we had no way of knowing for sure) but it was... Totally unexpected. Kind of weird for a Parody show (well, what started off as one) to have something that emotional.

It doesn't take much for a movie to make me cry... It's a good thing... I've got a lot of reserve crying to take care of...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evcNPfZlrZs Watch this movie なう。 It's legal, free... And it's more than its premise. It's not saying Fast Food is good food. Just watch it.

I believe she referred to the "$&@!"

As a moderator, I don't think I have any problem with it. Some of our members don't bother with that and just have the censor get rid of it, or there's the classic first letter + asterisks.

It does't refer to any specific word, just angry thoughts towards the creator of Berserk.
