Yay for pointless topics! :jump:

What is the longest title of an anime you've actually watched? Subtitles of movies or additional seasons do not count. (So like, I can't say "Full Metal Alchemist the Movie: The Sacred Star of Milos!" - even if it was out already.) Feel free to post English or Japanese titles.

Mine, actually, would be The Adventures of Scamper the Penguin  (The Japanese title is a bit shorter - Chiisana Pengin: Lolo no Bouken.) Really close behind that is Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo, though.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex

The Place Promised in Our Early Days

5 Centimeters Per Second

Makoto Shinkai kind of loves to have long title names for his movies. His new movie title is, Children Who Chase Lost Voices from Deep Below

I am not sure what you mean by "Subtitles of movies or additional seasons do not count". I am assuming you mean saying "the movie" or "season two" but if not you will just have to tell me if mine don't count. :P

Record of Lodoss War: Chronicles of the Heroic Knight

Martian Successor Nadesico: The Prince of Darkness

Eureka Seven: Pocket Full of Rainbows or Eureka Seven: Good Night, Sleep Tight, Young Lovers
It seems that the first is the directly translated Japanese and the official English title, someone correct me if not.

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion

This is pretty interesting. For me it's Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, and Now and Then, Here and There. Word counts: four, five, and six.

Sora o Miageru Shoujo no Hitomi ni Utsuru Sekai
空を見上げる少女の瞳に映る世界
The World Reflected in the Eyes of the Girl Looking at the Sky

or

Legend of the Galactic Heroes: A Hundred Billion Stars; A Hundred Billion Lights
銀河英雄伝説外伝/千億の星、千億の光

Eureka Seven: Pocket Full of Rainbows or Eureka Seven: Good Night, Sleep Tight, Young Lovers

It seems like Pocket Full of Rainbows is the Japanese title, which they translated from the English phrase, since it's clearly meant to be an allusion to the song. Also, the actual title is even longer, as it'd be one of

Psalm of Planets Eureka seveN: Pocket Full of Rainbows
交響詩篇エウレカセブン : ポケットが虹でいっぱい
or
Psalm of Planets Eureka seveN -good night, sleep tight, young lovers-

I guess that reminded me of the Kara no Kyoukai films, as follows:

Kara no Kyoukai - the Garden of sinners: Fukan Fukei - Thanatos.
空の境界 - the Garden of sinners: 俯瞰風景 - Thanatos.
Boundary of Emptiness - the Garden of sinners: Overlooking View - Thanatos.

Kara no Kyoukai - the Garden of sinners: Satsujin Kosatsu (Zen) - ...and nothing heart.
空の境界 - the Garden of sinners: 殺人考察(前) - ...and nothing heart.
Boundary of Emptiness - the Garden of sinners: A Study in Murder (Part 1) - ...and nothing heart.

Kara no Kyoukai - the Garden of sinners: Tsukaku Zanryu - ever cry, never life.
空の境界 - the Garden of sinners: 痛覚残留 - ever cry, never life.
Boundary of Emptiness - the Garden of sinners: Remaining Sense of Pain - ever cry, never life.

Kara no Kyoukai - the Garden of sinners: Garan no Dou - garan-no-dou.
空の境界 - the Garden of sinners: 伽藍の洞 - garan-no-dou.
Boundary of Emptiness - the Garden of sinners: The Hollow Shrine - garan-no-dou.

Kara no Kyoukai - the Garden of sinners: Mujun Rasen - Paradox Paradigm.
空の境界 - the Garden of sinners: 矛盾螺旋 - Paradox Paradigm.
Boundary of Emptiness - the Garden of sinners: Paradox Spiral - Paradox Paradigm.

Kara no Kyoukai - the Garden of sinners: Boukyaku Rokuon - Fairy Tale.
空の境界 - the Garden of sinners: 忘却録音 - Fairy Tale.
Boundary of Emptiness - the Garden of sinners: Oblivion Recorder - Fairy Tale.

Kara no Kyoukai - the Garden of sinners: Satsujin Kosatsu (Go) - ...not nothing heart.
空の境界 - the Garden of sinners: 殺人考察(後) - ...not nothing heart.
Boundary of Emptiness - the Garden of sinners: A Study in Murder (Part 2) - ...not nothing heart.

Kara no Kyoukai - the Garden of sinners: Mirai Fukuin - recalled out summer.
空の境界 - the Garden of sinners: 未来福音 - recalled out summer.
Boundary of Emptiness - the Garden of sinners: Gospel in the Future - recalled out summer.

Longest (and most tonge-twisting) single-word title I've ever heard was Utawarerumono. It's often shortened to "Utaware," which helps a little. Also, it's a great series.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. I tend to just shorten it to Haruhi. XD

The longest one that is coming to mind right now is Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th M.S. Team.

The longest for me is Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitteiru aka Betrayal Knows my Name. I fell into the fan trap of calling it Uraboku recently though. I much prefer to say the whole name. It's fun to watch people goggle at me and say "What?".
