So, I just finished watching this seiries and I absolutely loved it!!!Although It could be slow at some times, it was really good. I'm rather dismayed that it calls itself a comedy, since so many bad things happen in it and it can get really heavy...
I fealt that the end it was...rather abrupt. I've heard the manga continues it. Is this true? And does the manga follow the same storyline? I'm kind of wondering this since
when Sana and Naozumi decided at last minute not to leave New York, I was kind of confused as too their reasons for this, as they seemed to determined to go home before...I'm glad they didn't go back though, because there was something very not-right about them leaving
Some parts really surprised me, both for the good and for the bad. Some parts made me cry. I loved it!!

I started watching this series back in my Fansub days, I never did finish it though. Maybe I'll take a look at it again if I ever got a chance, I recently saw an AMV that made me want to watch it again:

I have the first and second seasons of "Kodocha", and I have to say, I really enjoyed it. It's a very well done series, and the balance it strikes between comedy and drama makes it a series that I would recommend to anyone. I especially love the english dub version with all the singing and Sana-chan's rapping interludes surpassed even the Japanese IMHO.

This was my first anime.
I haven't seen past the first season though, I think...

I've seen the first 19 episodes of Kodocha (that seemed like a really good ending to me, so I was satisfied to stop there). I
looooooove it! XD Rarely have I laughed so hard and so often for an anime. And Episode 19 surpassed all my expectations and made me cry. I just...it's so good! Who would have guessed that such a crazy anime would deal with such hard, deep themes?
Oh, and an even better Kodocha AMV:
Caffeine Encomium!!!!

@the_wolfs_howl aww, that's sad you didn't complete it. There was so much more to the series!

Since this is apparently slightly popular and people think it's good, I will be checking it out. Thanks for pointing me to this anime!

The main reason I stopped was because all the loose ends were tied up nicely in Episode 19, and when everything is resolved like that...I just don't see any reason to keep watching. I mean,
Sana is basically okay with Hayama, Rei's mysteries are all cleared up, we know who Sana's real mom is, and she decided to stay with her adopted mother.
I didn't feel any need to watch some 80 more episodes when there was already a satisfying climax and denouement.... That would feel like a tacked-on sequel, even if it
is a good one.
But if you enjoyed it, that's great

I can't remember exactly where I stopped watching Kodocha... I got lost in the fillers somewhere around episode 30 and slowly lost the drive to continue. Like Wolf, however, I absolutely
adored the first 19 episodes. They were a family favorite, actually.
I have read the manga in its entirety, though, and I have some... mixed feelings. I thought the story stayed
fairly consistently good, but a few things happened near the end that really turned me and my sister off, and thus robbed a lot of my enjoyment from the last few chapters. There's a really good review for the Kodocha manga in the reviews section if you want to check it out. One thing I can tell you with doubtless certainly, however, is that the main plot of the manga differs
drastically from the story of the anime past a certain point.

And thank you for that info!

No problem! Just 'cause my sister and I were annoyed with it doesn't mean it wasn't any good. I hope that if you decide to read it you won't be disappointed.
