Do you watch the trailer?

In most anime series, a trailer will appear at the end for the next episode. I usually don't watch them if I'm watching it online, because I prefer surprises. What about the rest of you?

No. It's a bit of a spoiler and whatnot.

Yes and no, depends on the anime in question.

Sometimes the next episode preview is narrated in an entertaining way (if I remember correctly, Stellvia is an example), and I like to watch those. If I'm watching something week-by-week as it airs, I'm more likely to watch the previews as I find they usually increase my anticipation for the next week's episode (which presumably is what they're intended to do).

I think some series are designed so that the spoilers aren't a problem. Episode titles like
'Master Asia's Last Breath'
(G Gundam) and
'The Magician Doesn't Return'
(Legend of the Galactic Heroes) give the game away anyway, and I find in those cases foreknowledge actually enhances events' impact.

But sometimes I find the previews plain boring, so I skip them.

I usually don't. Not because I don't want to, but because I want to watch the next episode immediately. Unless I really like the ending or it's streaming weekly. XP

Nope, I don't watch the previews. They usually spoil everything. "Next episode, so-and-so DIES!" Sometimes episode titles are bad enough on their own.

Sometimes, depends on the show.

I'm watching Baccano! right now and I have to say that I love the narration that Isaac and Miria give for each trailer. (Actually, I just love Isaac and Miria, period. They're my favorite characters so far.)

But sometimes it's more than just entertainment. Sometimes the narration reveals significant thematic issues, too. Think of Trigun, for instance, where there's a little bit of philosophizing along with the trailer. I didn't find those Trigun trailers that compelling, but still, you'd be missing something if you skipped them.

I can also think of at least one example where if you missed the narration that accompanied the trailer, you might have had trouble interpreting the relationship between two characters, because Character B never said "That's when I fell in love with Character A" DURING the episode, but came very close to saying that in the narration during the trailer for that episode.

I guess the way I think of it is that if the trailers are there, we're supposed to see them, so you're missing some of the intended experience if you skip them.

Only if the ED is worth sitting through. Or if they're just awesome on their own, like ヽ(`▽´)ノ KAREN DAZE ヽ( ゚ω゚)ノ TSUKIHI DAYO

If I've already read the manga, I'll watch the preview just to see what part of it is being adapted next.

Other than that, I'm much like blkmage. If the ED isn't awesome, I'm not sitting through it.

Usually, I skip the trailers until the latest episode.
That way I don't spoil surprises...but if I am not going to be watching it for a while,
I will watch the trailers...just to keep me interested!

Oh, also, if you skip the preview on a DVD you will sometimes also miss the pre-OP segment if the series has one. I did that a lot with SkooRum and Darker than Black... T.T

I sometimes watch the trailers if its a show that I'm really interested in. It kinda gives me an idea on what's gonna happen next and, if it's a TV show that I'm watching with friends, it gives us something to discuss!

I really like the trailers that came after each episode of "Eureka Seven". I love the fact that they never called the characters by name, only referring to them as "The boy" for Renton or "The girl" for Eureka.

It depends for me. Most of the time I do watch the trailers. Unless it's a series I have on DVD and I can just skip to the next episode whenever I want.

I almost always watch the trailers, especially if I'm watching more than one anime at a time and want to decide if the next episode is worth watching immediately or if I should watch an episode of another series. Even when I'm only watching one series, I like to see whats in the next episode so i can skip or come back to any filler episodes

Yes, always. Sometimes jokes are in the trailers that you wouldn't otherwise see. I know Sailor Moon did this a lot...they also had jokes in the opening previews of the episodes which unfortunately the official US releases saw fit to cut out. I have fansubs of S and SuperS that keep the openings intact but I can't do much for the other seasons sadly. :\

Yeah, I watch them, but whenever I watch stuff with one of my older brothers, he always skips them. >> (I just sneak back and watch it myself later. ;3)

I always watch them. I kinda consider them a part of the episode itself, so I wouldn't like skipping them. XD

Then again, most of the anime I watch is what's on TV. It's just more convenient to watch, and if it's a good anime I want to see as much of that show as possible since it'll be a week before I get to see any more.

Yes, I almost always watch the upcoming episode preview. Visually it may spoil things a little but the voice-overs are often so incomprehensible as to be silly, when they're probably just trying to be poetic.

It depends. Sometimes I just want to watch the next episode now, but if the previews are presented in an interesting way that gives only a vague description of the next episode and doesn't spoil anything, i'll watch it.

It just depends. If I'm watching the series as it airs, and I won't see the new episode until next week, then I'll watch it. However, if I'm Marathoning a series, and I'm about to go right into it...then there's no point, haha.

It depends, really. If the trailer is actually a preview, I'll probably skip it. However, when I was watching Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, I felt lost during the beginning of a few episodes until I learned that the trailer is sometimes replaced with a continuation of the plot or more of a particular scene.

After that, I'd make sure to watch after the credits and check that I'm skipping a preview and not missing out on anything.

I usually watch the next-episode preview. If I am watching online, sometimes I'll skip it, but most of the time I'll watch it. Plus, sometimes those episode preview things can be quite humerous; like the ones for Black Cat!

I never watch them. I figure, if I don't know the story yet, it'll probably end up spoiling something, and if I know the story already, what's the point? Besides, the purpose of previews seems to me to be an incentive to watch something. Because I watch anime almost exclusively by trusted recommendations, and thus want to watch the whole thing to the end regardless of how excited I am about it, previews are completely unnecessary for me.

Most of the time, yes, because the animes I watch normally don't give too much away. But in the case of Ouran High School Host Club and The World God Only Knows, I found so boring it drove me out of my mind. But Uragri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitteiru had the most hilarious previews of all time. They would show clips from the next episode while talking about something completely random (Luka you clip you finger nails?!?!).

I usually skip them too. I prefer going straight to watching the next episode. But if I don't already have the next episode, I won't be able to help it. I'll play the preview over and over again until I get sick of it. :D
