For some reason, I can't get both pages. It's taking a while to load.

/edit

It says '503 Service Temporarily Unavailable'. Looks like ANN is under maintenance.

Its not loading.

But I read about this earlier today and I believe it. It Japan after all and even a series that we may not like, can make money for them, they will restart it.

I don't know, Yu-Gi-Oh GX isn't a winning concept.

Edit: I had some of the quote wrong.

Inuyasha is back with a new season?

Oh, wait. I should have checked the link first. Somehow fighting tops still seems less tragic now.

That? Wow. I thought that show was lame, and now they've decided to grace us again with more 'kids going gaga over tops--which happen to have powers'. I can't wait to tell my sister. Interesting. Japan, if you need a writer, I'm here. I need the money to pay for my outrageous tuition, hehe.

This is truly insane....even something like Sonic X deserves another season more then Beyblade.....but, then I've never seen one episode of Beyblade and have seen the entire series of Sonic X....

....So, I could be biased in my statement...it really is way to late.....

If you'll excuse me, I think I feel my first emo moment building up...

::goes into a corner and sighs::

Anyway, I can't believe that ANYONE would want to plunk down $200 Million to bring back an anime like Beyblade. It's just your typical "genki boy (who never seems to age) overcomes all odds to be the best whatever of all time" storyline. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh milk that proverbial cow dry?

However, someone in the ANN Fourms made a good point in that Beyblade is not really geared towards the older set. It's mostly designed to appeal to the 7-12 year old genre--you know the type: young kids who run downstairs on Saturday morning with a bowl of cereal to watch cartoons, then run outside to talk about it with their friends and re-enact key "action" scenes. Admit it, 18-20 year olds out there! You used to do the same thing with DBZ!

This is why they are bring it back. Anime that appeals to 7-12 year olds and will make money by selling toys, will always keep coming out of the Japan pipeline.

Anime like this have one selling point that anime for teens or adults don't have. If the anime doesn't do well as hit in Japan or the US, but the toys are selling. They will keep the series doing as long as they can.

I really don't have a problem with Japan bring this series back. The only way that I would lose respect for anime and Japan is, if someone puts $200 Million into bring back Reign from the dead.

That series needs to stay dead, bury and copies of series be burn.

Let's just hope no one has the idea to sell a line of Reign tops, apparently spinning plastic is enough to bring ANY franchise back.

If that happens, keep your eyes on eBay kiddies--I'm selling off ALL my anime DVD's!

Based on my research, the company that was in charge of the License and the Dubbing was "Nelvana". They don't have a very long track record, to be honest--Other than Beyblade, Cardcaptor Sakura, Sailor Moon and something called Pandalian, they haven't done much.

Um, back in the day, I was a kid. Who liked anime. And it still wasn't favorable. Back in the day, my 13 year old sister was a kid. And she thought it was lame. Back in the day, my cousin--must I go on? :D

I think they should just focus more on the toys than the show. The toys sold like hot bread back at my old island home.

It was geared toward kids.

The series aired on the Saturday morning block here in the US. The age rating was for all ages.

I think he was saying that localization and the U.S. censors made the show more kiddy than what it was in Japan. Still, I doubt a show about battling, spinning tops with magical beasts that do almost nothing would have a dark tone and a serious message.

The US version was mostly edited to localization, names of characters and logos. The only thing that really got edit due to violence was the phrase "Go Shoot" was replaced with "Let it Rip", possibly to avoid references to gun violence and where Tyson's brother Hiro punches Tyson and was edited out in the US version.

It was more of a kiddy show then Yu-Gi-Oh was.

Hey why not try to make an anime series out of Yo-yos, paddleball, or the infamous ball-in-a-cup?! And then make it so some kids battle each other with them and then you've got a million bucks. Thats of course after the cost of toys, posters, other miscellaneous stuff that kids MIGHT want to buy, and the eventual lawsuits that come from the toys being swallowed by kids and the parents suing the makers for not putting the "Do not swallow the small parts of the toys" in BIG BOLD PRINT. And after this the profit will be a wopping $1!

Just kidding, I know these types of anime are big cash cows and they rake in alot of money. But eventually the spinning top fad will be non-existent, hopefully.

America is the only country with warning labels like that. Other countries don't need them. I suppose their kids aren't as stupid as ours.

Someone mind telling me what the big deal is?

I actually LIKE beyblade (Yes, yes, insert shocking and gasping here). Mind you my favorite series was GRevolution (the one with the nicest animation and storyline..most of which got killed for the dub), but still...

Why all the hate? If you don't like it, you don't have to watch it yanno. It's also not like the show involves worshipping satan or something, so unless you can give a REAL good reason it shouldn't air...why care?

This is about as bad as people having fits when they changed crap on Nick Jr (years after those people had stopped watching). Sorry guys, but the whole point of this thread seems to be nothing but "lets bash beyblade" and that's just silly. ._. Why not put your time in effort into something that doesn't make you mad? Not to mention it's not even like Beyblade was one of those mega popular shows.

I understand people wanting Spongebob to end because it's everywhere (and takes up room for quality stuff), but in this case? You probably won't even notice it, plus Nelvana isn't like some super big and serious studio. Beyblade getting dubbed won't take the place of your precious masterpieces.
