Venus Versus Virus

Postby yukoxholic » Fri Mar 21, 2008 11:37 am

To my fellow anime-fanatics.. ^__~ (that looks a bit formal, now doesn't it?)

I was wondering if anyone has seen the anime Venus Versus Virus. If so could anyone tell me what elements are in it?(example: sex, drugs, cursing, nudity, violence). Actually, I really don't care so much about bad language. It's the other stuff I'm more concerned about.

Thanks in advance!

Well, Venus Versus Virus has quite a bit of implied yuri between Lucia and Sumire, and there's also a lot of "Virus" blasting and a few choice words are tossed around. The TV-14 rating is very well deserved here. But I think it's fine if you aren't offended. (I'm not.)

Thanks! I did read about the yuri thing but it was confirmed on quite a few websites that it's not yuri in the slightest and it's mostly due to fanboy (and or girling!) who wish to believe Lucia and Sumire are more than what is implied in the series. Much like what people assumed in Kaledio Star bewteen Sora and Layla, just fan speculation!

Though as I stated before I haven't seen the series yet so the websites may be wrong... :D

Could you divulge more about this "virus blasting," is it gory? Creepy? Bloody? Also, if you could compare it to another anime show that would be great(example: as gory as Blood+, as creepy as Red Garden/Death Note, as bloody as gunslinger girl). Thanks :)

In order for the main character to battle she must first be infected with the virus which transforms her. This is done via the use of a pistol shooting a bullet like projectile into her. Generally, this is inflicted by another character. However, on a couple of occasions it is self inflicted, in other words, she points the pistol at her own head and pulls the trigger. While it may be part of the storyline, that imagery is just a little much for me and I didn't care for it. While not bloody, I found it disturbing.

Thanks so much for the information! Yeah,a character shooting themselves in the head doesn't sound too great to me. I'll have to research a little more on this show if I do decide to buy it though right now I doubt I will unless anyone else here has seen it and has some positive feedback on the show!
