I don't know if anyone's mention this before. While I was at Mitsuwa market in San Jose back in September, people were giving out flyers of this new animated movie that came out in Japan in October called the Golden Laws. From what the flyer showed, and from what my mom read on it, it looks like some people who travel back in time and witness things that began certain religions. From the pictures I saw, there are a few parts from the bible in the movie, such as the true stories Moses and Jesus Christ. I wonder if this movie will ever come to America, but that would be awesome if it does! Still, I would like to see it in Japanese. If anyone is interested, I'll see if I can find that flyer, and scan some things out of it.

My Japanese friend said NOT to watch this... He said it was made by a cult and is not a christian thing... It's an evangelistic film made by a cult that they use to proselytise...
Basically, it's one of those "all religions are the same, but" sort of things...

Ok, just got more info... It's a buddhist cult. The leader beleieves he's the reincarnation of Buddha and Hermes (from Greek Mythology) and that he created the world... I'm just plain shocked that someone like that got the cash to produce an anime...
So, yeah, It is a cult...And must be a convincing one, too...

All I've got to say is if a Cult is using an anime to get people, why aren't Christians taking ahold of these methods yet? It'll happen someday...

Do you have a URL for these guys? They might be interesting reading to come up with refutations for their key points.

Actually, back in the early 1980s, CBN (The Christian Broadcasting Network), produced two specifically Christian children's animes in Japan. They used to run the dubbed version on the local TBN channel on Saturday mornings here, so I've seen some episodes. "Flying House" and "Superbook". I was actually a faithful watcher of "Superbook". Both are very cute series about children witnessing stuff happening in Biblical times.

Other way around. CBN actually licensed them from the original Japanese creators (which weren't especially evangelical, more intended just to cash in on the Bible's status as a best-seller) and then reversioned them significantly for the American Christian market.

I am also suprised that some nutcase got the money to make an anime.
Reincarnation of Hermes... Good grief.
You know, I ran into a site on the web this week that briefly mentioned that anime. It said that in edition to stories about Jesus and Moses, it also included stories about Buddha and Hermes. That apparantly confirms your info.

this guy must have a mother load of tricks up his sleeve to have gotten the money to make the movie.
