Is VIsion of Escaflowne good? Or should I stay away from it? Is it anti-Christian in any way?
Being a Christian makes me a different otaku; Being an otaku doesn't make me a different Christian!

It's a magical show with swordfighting and mecha, in a way (they fight in big "melifs" which are like robotic armor)
It's about a girl who gets beamed away into a strange new world where the Earth is seen as a moon. In that world there are different creatures (like catgirls and talking dolphins)and she gets caught up in the middle of a war.

The story is really good, and can get somewhat violent (not to much though) in some parts. The first 2 episodes have the most violence in the first half of the series.

The ONLY thing I can imagine someone getting upset over, is the use of Tarot cards. I don't think anyone should really throw a fit over that. 'Cause it's there doesn't mean you have to buy into it. I mean comon, if you're gonna get upset over that, then you gotta get upset over the magic used in Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter.

Basically, I liked it. Good story, good action and character development. If you want to get a quick summary of the plot, go watch the movie. The movie is a different STORY, but it's the basic idea; and it's more violent.

And the music is classic. The opening of the movie is wonderful; the music matched with the art is just something memorable.

Just because something is non-Christian in character does not make it anti-Christian.
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge

once again. Jesus Christ, Light of the World, burning
bright within our hearts forever. Freedom means love
without condition, without beginning or an end. Here's
my heart, let it be forever Yours, only You can make

I highly recommend The Vision of Escaflowne series, it is one of my top 2 all-time favorites. Beautiful animation and music, intriuging plot, excellent character development, and it blends the best elements from several genres.
