The Spirit of Wonder

I just saw the first two episodes of this last night. It's really good- anyone who's into science or engineering should really love it. Beyond that unfortunately it's hard to describe- neither episode had any immediate connection to the other. Apparently it's supposed to be an excellent hard SF series.
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

I guess you and I are the only one's who have watched this Techno.

I bought the original Spirit Of Wonder: Miss China's Ring a few years ago and really enjoyed it. It's a 45 minute story short on character development but long on charm.

When I heard that Spirit Of Wonder was coming out I was really looking forward to it. In fact, the charm is still there. Unfortunately, the creators felt the need to throw in a lot of fanservice and nudity also. I was very disappointed in the fact that I was able to let my kiddos watch Miss China's Ring, but this is one I will not be able to let them see.
