Which anime's need a sequel, don't need a sequel, and games that should be anime's?

Everyone who has ever watched an anime series knows if it needs a sequel or not. Anyone who has ever watched a sequel knows if it were necessary or not. Anybody who has ever played a video game or read a Manga knows if it should be made into an anime. What sequels are being made? Post your replies to any of these thoughts in this thread!
Here's mine:
Trigun
Trigun needs a sequel for sure. What happens to Vash and Knives. Who knows? That's why we need a sequel to find out!
King Of Fighters
A great game that has been minimally made into an anime. Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting were made into an anime, but what about the rest of the characters like Iori? He needs his own series.
NINJA SCROLL
Do we really need a Ninja Scroll television series? NO! Do we need another Ninja Scroll Movie? YES! I doon't like the look of Ninja Scroll the television series and it can't hold a candle to the Movie, so why not a movie sequel instead?

I don't think Trigun needs a sequel. It ended that way for a reason. But that's just me.
There should be a Final Fantasy anime based off of one of the games. Or just a version of one of the games.

There is. A rather mediocre one based off Final Fantasy 5 and its story, called Final Fantasy Legend of the Crystals.

Ditto. Trigun was conclusive and most of the FF games would make an awesome anime if done right. Well, FFIX might be a little boring actually. I think I'd like to see FFVIII or FFX be put into an anime because of the very defined characters.
For anime, I think that there should be another Iria. There's always other bounties to catch, and maybe her little partner in crime might grow up a little and help her out. They'd have to lay off the fanservice this time, though.
Zoids Chaotic Century (or Guardian Force) could have had a much better ending, but I think a sequel series would be even better.
A Princess Nine - Second Season would be a dream come true! Yeah, I think I'd like to see a sequel to Princess Nine the most.

i think cowboy bebop needs more episodes, but i dont think a sequil would be good seeing how it finished up well, but maybe filler episodes, or prequils, about spike and jet.

I'm gonna have to go with the others on Trigun...as much as I loved the series, I think it ended in just the right place. An Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask anime might be awesome...provided it was done right...*growls defensively* And I'm pretty sure a well-written movie done well from any FF would be great, and would probably make yet more addicts to the series...LOL

I'd agree there.

A Ocarina of Time anime...now that would be something interesting indeed.
I think Fruits Basket definately needs a second season...they built up such a climax, and it ended pretty weakily to me.
Oh, and cool sig Sangoku! "Faith conquers all". Latin phrases sound awesome.

I think Kenshin ended kind opf abruptly and with a bad story about weird magic. It needs a sequel.
I agree that Trigun had a good ending.... although I do want more Trigun...
Hmmm... a Jak and Daxter anime would be interesting, and definitely Xenosaga!

I had heard there is a Fruits Basket second season. But, my source could be wrong. We need to go ask Danek - anime master
. But, that's one I would definitely want to see. I'd also like any Link movies or series, as long as they're done well.
I'd also like to see more of the Angelic Layer manga. It ended kind of odd. I hope they go further in the anime.
I'm also with Michiru - no more NGE.
What I'd really love to see is more Cardcaptor Sakura. She could be fighting crime or something with all those cards.

Thanks Ash, "Faith (in the Lord) Conquers All (challenges)" has become my motto of sorts.
On another note, a Jin-Roh series would be good. That "universe" has a lot of potential to create some excellent stories.

I agree, the Kenshin (samurai X) anime series despite being 95 episodes long had a disapointing and rather abrupt ending. Counted second in terms of disapointing endings for me only to Seisouhen which is the name of the Final Kenshin OVA. Im not gonna spoil it for you, but needless to say it counts out the idea of there ever being anything more Kenshin

Kenshin needs to be at least continued, if not to gain a sequel.

Anime Sequal: I would like to see the Nadesico Game turned into pure anime format and released over here since it contains many important parts of the story that we're not going to see otherwise (no chance in helsinki the game is gonna get translated...)
Anime From Game: Final Fantasy 6... I'd love to see the entire story animated. Of course, I wonder how they'd treat certian things like Celes and Cid (WOR)
Despite all of Nintendo of America*s censoring at that time, Im shocked that the attempted suicide of a main character got through... I would think that would be a lot more taboo than the fact Rosa and Cecil (FF4) were in a sexual relationship, which was cut out to the point of removie scenes of them kissing...
should NOT get a sequal? Ninja Scroll shouldn't get any sort of followup... Not TV, not another movie, nothing...
Not anymore than we need another La Blue Girl or Bible Black...even though NS isnt as severe as those two...let that ruiner of animes reputation die the death it deserves
I read somewhere that eventually the producers of Xenosaga wanted to make either an anime or manga/book or both or...
Well, I don't really remember the exact details.

I don't see why people don't think that Trigun should have a sequel. We still don't know what happens to Vash and Knives. Is Knives still evil? Where does Vash head off to next? Does Vash still have his uncontrolable power? Do any of the insurance girls finally confess there love? We definetely need a sequel!

*Laughs at your name and location*
A fellow Arizonan! Yay! Also, I live out in Buckeye, where I work part time for a small newspaper called The Desert Sun... so your name just strikes me as funny. It reminds me of work!
Mmmm... Trigun is good, it is very good... it is my favorite anime, though I'm thinking it might just be replaced in ranking (or maybe just tied) when I get to see the rest of Haibane Renmei... anyway... it wouldn't quite be the same without the Gung-Ho-Guns... I'm not sure how a sequel would go. If it went badly, I would be too sad. I don't want it to be like a lot of corny after-series fanfics I've read. I think it ended at the right place, and in the right way. I like ambiguous endings, endings that leave you thinking of possibilities (if they are done well. Go see the Big O ending topic for my view on that...
)
It's like... I liked how the Lord of the Rings books ended... the story ended kinda open... and having a sequel to the Trigun anime would be kind of like having a full sequel to that. Yes, there was some explaination of interesting things that happened to certain characters after the story in Tolkien's massive appendix, but as for the story, it ended in a good way... kinda open, but good. I'm wondering if the last movie will keep true to the last book that way.
I'm just afraid that if Trigun continued... that it would be a great series that would get ruined in the end - like The X-Files. I've been traumatized by the last season of The X-Files. It makes me afraid for all good series of... anything.
No more NGE please... I'm confused enough.
As for an anime that I really do think needs more... Petshop of Horrors. They only made a four episode OVA series. I've been reading the translated manga... and there are more cool stories that the anime creators could do! It's a series that could go on for quite a while without getting ruined, because each episode is like a seperate little story. It's kind of like "The Twilight Zone" or "Tales of the Crypt" - just little seperate stories with a minimal of principal characters. The only "main" characters are Count D and Detective Orcott - the main stories center upon the mysterious creatures purchased from the shop and epsidoe-specific characters' lives coming undone by their own foolishness or sins in relationship to said creatures.

I think Ninja Scroll did get some sort of sequel. Not sure if it really is a sequel or not (I haven't seen it), but Ninja Resurrection has a swordsman named Jubei in it. I think this is definitely by far the worst anime I have ever seen. I don't even want to write whats in this anime, but it its hardcore blasphemy, and its one of those things that has made me think of being a missionary to Japan.

Actually, Ninja Scroll does not have a sequel. There was a movie (Ninja Ressurection) that was remarkably similar, as it was based on the same legend, but it isn't a proper sequel.
Dragonball AF is a lie, but it's a funny lie. Have you ever seen the "episode summaries" St. Peter? I'd link to them here, but I've forgotten the site. They have every single character fuse until they have a name that's about forty characters long. Just an example:
Episode 45: X beats up Y
Episode 46: X beats up Y more
Episode 47: X beats up Y more
Episode 48: X beats up Y more
Episode 49: Y begins to transform
Episode 50: Y finishes transforming
Episodes 51-83: Y beats up X

Ninja Scroll does have a sequel. The sequel is a television series and it's out in the U.S. on dvd. It came out this year. Ninja Resurrection has nothing to do with Ninja Scroll, but it is a rip-off of Ninja Scroll. Anyways-
I don't see why people always say, "they better not make a sequel to Evangelion!". A sequel of Evangelion can't be made anyway! There are also some anime's that have sequels or prequels, but are in manga format. There is a prequel to Cowboy Bebop, but it's in Manga format and is only available in Japan. I also think that Trigun was not that great of an anime. The Gun-Ho-Gun fights were done very cheaply. I guess that the budget ran low in Trigun because there wasn't even one spectacular fight. The only anime t.v. series that had spectacular fights was Cowboy Bebop. I also don't see why Evangelion is so popular. It's very anti-christian and so many christians enjoy the show. I can't stand anime's that twist the words of the Bible around to create an occultic following.

As for Trigun, I think some animes are much more effective when they end meaningfully yet leave the viewer to draw some of their own conclusiuons. I don't need to know everything that may happen to Vash and Knives in the future, it's more important what has happened to them already, how they have developed as individuals, and what a viewer can take from that. Sometimes not knowing and drawing your own conclusions is much more powerful than having everything laid out for you. It's why I don't often like movies based on books--books allow the reader to form their own imagery regarding the story being told--the movies give you too much and are too limited by what one director or a staff believes the people and places should look like.
I know there's already three seasons out, but I would like to see another season of Slayers. As a huge Slayers fan, I would love to see the series go a little more back to its roots, rather than trying to be too grandiose and earth-shattering like in Try (the third season). A fourth installment could have more parodies and anime in-jokes while focusing on the main characters. We really haven't seen much of Zellas or Dynast either--I'd like to see one or both of those two as the main villains.

let this not be a discussion, but a lesson.
A sequel of Evangelion can't be made anyway!
duh. try FORCING to make a sequel, everyone knows it'll suck, and that it's another milking scheme. everyone knows that. actually, not everyone knows that. well, i know what'll happen, and one thing for sure, i can guarantee it'll suck, unless of course it's another 'retell' of the story from a different perspective. even then it won't be good, i know it won't be.
I also don't see why Evangelion is so popular. It's very anti-christian and so many christians enjoy the show. I can't stand anime's that twist the words of the Bible around to create an occultic following.
you have no idea what you're talking about.

I think that another Cowboy Bebop movie should be made and be a longer version of the last episode!

One: Yes, I suppose you could call the Ninja Scroll series a sequel. I didn't really count it.

And as for NGE... it does not deserve to be continued!

Even one comment on Evangelion continues it, as LorentzForce will probably feel the need to defend it. Unless you have something serious to say about it, try to stay off the topic. Not that we couldn't have a serious conversation about said sequels.
