Most Precious Anime-Related Possession

Of course, life does not consist of things, and people are blessed just to get to see their favorite animes, but, sometimes, things are fun.

Do you have any anime-related item that is particularly precious to you? This can be anything. This can be a fanart. This can be a copy of a fanfiction... this can be a simple drawing of an anime character on a letter from a dear friend. It can even be your tapes or DVDs, or even your TV if you can only get your anime that way! I can be... that Pikachu keychain you got at KFC years ago! It can be Tenchi Muyo toilet paper! It can be anything you deem especially precious.

For me, it is a cosplay coat. I have several reasons for loving it so. First of all, it was made by an online friend of mine, so, it was made by a friend. Also, it is very well-made, and very nice. I traded a very nice piece of artwork for it as partial payment, and I was proud of the artwork I did (though the coat was more than worth it!). It was for my first serious cosplay. It holds memories of my very first (and thus far only) anime convention. And, what really ups it's value... I had it signed "To Stacey" (my real name) in Japanese, and autographed by the screenplay writer of the anime it is from (and my favorite anime, though Haibane Renmei may surpass it eventually).

My Vash coat. ^_^. I love it, I love it, I love it! I like to find excuses to wear it, though when I do, I am extremely careful with the panel upon which Youske Kuroda's autograph is. Though the autograph was done with fabric pens, I will not wash the coat, and therefore keep careful to keep it from becoming dirty at all. I really don't want that sig to wash out. (I also rinsed out the coat while I was at Anime Expo before I got it signed and the red bleed a lot. The coat is still a nice, bright red, but... I worry).

Here is a photograph of me modeling it: I am aiming my "Angel Arm" at Knives

The feathers are an extra accessory that I added... no feathers are an actual part of the coat! I wanted to have an "Angel Arm" because I knew there'd be lots of Vashes at the con, and I wanted to be a touch unique.

I also have a volume of Trigun Maxium manga (volume 3) signed by Yasuhiro Nightow, and that is precious to me because it was a gift from my online boyfriend, but I find that the coat beats it out as my most precious anime-related item. It has many reasons for being special to me.

I collect Ranma 1/2 metal lapel pins. I bought a Ranma 1/2 baseball cap with Genma/Panda on the front and I've placed the pins all around the cap. To my knowledge I have every pin ever made or made available. There must be 40 pins in this cap now (probably weighs about 2 1/2 to 3 pounds). In fact, I just added to my collection this past week getting a Ryoga pin. Seems like they will never stop making these things. Better get another cap.

Pencil boards! I'd love to collect those... I only have one right now... an Azumanga Daioh pencil board. I find it very useful in drawing and writing, having a hard surface, plus, it's cute! I'd love to get some Haibane Renmei ones (When I got my DVD, I didn't get the box special thing, so I didn't get the boards). They just seem like a fun thing to collect. :)

As it is.. I need steady work before I can feel free to spend money on anime/manga stuff. I know the first volume of Trigun manga is out in English... I want it SOOOO bad, but I don't feel free to spend the money to get it right now, so I will have to wait a little bit. :(

Hmm, I think it's my Bahamut figure with foot and a half wide wings... Maybe the special edition Alpha from Robotech/Mospeada... Dunno.

On a side note, though, my favorite figure right now is probably my Ash vs. Evil Ash set from "Army Of Darkness."

without a doubt my sketch book...

i had always thought myself to be a terrible artist until (in a fit of rage- which i have since found out is when i draw best) i threw some pencil lines on a page and came out with a sketch that actually looked real. i have since been expounding my creativity and studying any anime i can find (which right now is Inuyasha, Trigun and Cowboy Bebop) to further my knowledge and talent.

my sketch book contains all my sucessess and failures at drawing anime. i wouldn't give that up for any thing. thats my special item.

NANI? Robot Carnival is out on DVD?!?! Hey wolf, I have a better idea for my b-day present! :)

Well, at the risk of being labled a 'coveter' my favorite piece of anime paraphenlia is a plush toy cat bus (from totoro) that is perched on the TV set at my favorite sushi bar (Izakaia Tanuki). I haven't been able to find it anywhere, though, so I don't have one. Otherwise my office would look much nicer. :)

For me, my most prized possessions are things that have sentimental value or are unbique. My most prized anime possession would be a fanart I bought from a aspiring young artist. It's actually very good and VERY cute--it's characters from Card Captor Sakura dressed as characters from Lost Universe! :)
