i am wondering as to whether the material in Metropolis or Haiban Renmei is good or ok and isnt too much into something satanic. also other animes that are of christian influence and have spiritual essence. thanks!

RK is not christian series/movie, by definition of made by christian authors with christian intents in mind. It does have some christian values displayed throughout the series such as loving your neighbor, but it is not blatently christian, and is actually a historical anime based on the period after one of Japans revolutions.
Metropolis is violent, and a little disturbing, but mostly focuses on technology, if i remember correctly there isn't really any occult in it... just bad science, insanity politics and the debate of when is a machine not a machine.

I know nothing of haibane renme... sorry.

hi, im back with the posting of old hehe, i dont know what im saying..

ok, so ive seen more animes than usual thanx to limewire please..
so i saw christian values or somewat of a negative thing on samurai champloo but wats pretty neat is that it is relevant because of the historical facts its based on concerning christianity in the edo period Japan. I dont know about if there really was an underground christian movement and if there was a revolution or whatever but it sound pretty interesting and would like to research more...

Metropolis is a very good movie (both the 1926 sci-fi movie and the anime, but I'm guessing you're talking about the anime). It's not that violent, but it is a deep movie. Its PG here.

What would be satanic about Metropolis? It was an awesome movie. Made you think. Not even taht violent, and the only thing I can think of is the mention of the Tower of Babel, if I'm not mistaken...I'm not sure about that, though.

In general, Haibane Renmei is very clean. There is certainly nothing satanic in it, and I personally would go so far as to say that several of its themes harmonize fairly well with Christianity, even though it is not actually written from a Christian worldview (for example, the definition of sin in Haibane Renmei is not the same as the view found in the Bible). Metropolis isn't disturbing, so much as it is...unsettling. It's really thought-provoking, and it's quite complex. I think I'll break out my copy and watch it either tonight or tomorrow night. I got my copy on ebay! Like brand new!
