a good LONG anime series

Postby jon_jinn » Sat Sep 02, 2006 7:47 pm

i'm looking for a good anime series that's LONG. and by that, i mean over 70 episodes or so. i'm looking more for an action anime but i've also grown like suspence, mystery, slice of life, and drama animes as well. so if any of you guys have a good series to recommend, by all means, do so. i'd also appreciate it if you guys would also quote the content and such. thanks.

One Piece. :p It still isn't finished in Japan, it's up to episode 275 or so, so yeah, it's a good long one.

How about an anime that is exactly 70 episodes long?

If that's alright, then I'd reccomend "Monster". It's full of suspense, mystery, and drama. I watched the whole series in a week, but for anyone with a social life, it'd take a while to complete.

YOU ARE MY FRIEND

I am a TOTAL monster fanboy. It's my #1 anime... or #2. It's fighting with Paranoia Agent at the moment XD But yes. Jon_jinn, Linksquest, Mechana, and I (and some others I guess) are some avid monster fans.

I guess bleach would be a good recommendation.

Rurouni Kenshin has 95 episodes. Dragonball Z (shut up XD) has a lot of episodes too, I don't even know how many. Umm...that's all I can think of for now. XD I'm more attracted to shorter or more normal-sized series.

yes. i've just read the case closed review and it looked pretty good and i was thinking of trying that but, now that i know it has 452 episodes...i'm not so sure i want to try it. also, i've already started on bleach so yeah. one piece was also one that i might've tried, but that's over 250 episodes. i guess i asked for a little too much. i'd like it if the anime series was over 70 episodes, but nothing extremely long that would take a while for me to finish (since school's starting). so probably in-between 70 and about 110 episodes. or around there. thank you.

Or you could try Doreamon, the longest anime series ever. Currently over 2,000 episodes. That should keep you busy. :p

Yes, I read your last post, so I know that's too long, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to say it.

As for myself, Fullmetal Alchemist, Naruto (uncut), Bleach, One Piece (uncut), Ruroni Kenshin, Card Captor Sakura (if you don't mind it). I would also try some of the longer manga series, such as Fruits Basket, Inuyasha, and the manga versions of those abovementioned series.

How did I not notice this thread?!

As Kaemmerite said, watch One Piece, uncut. Very nice series, very long (and typically with few "dragging" moments), with a great adventure, story, and action.

Trust me, tis great.

I love Yu Yu Hakusho! About 112 episodes or so, and it basically NEVER slows up. Virtually no filler either. Different story arcs yes, but no true filler. The slowest episodes would actually be in the first arc or so.... If you ask me, the series only gets better as it goes along.

FMA is also excellent, although it's a bit under 70 episodes.

One Piece has 275 and isn't even halfway done yet. XD

Though if you went with any of the Dragon Ball series, I believe the original (not Z) was suppose to be the best one.

I would almost have to agree. I have always had a soft spot for DB and DBZ because i used to watch them when i was really young. but I liked DBZ better actaully more straight foreword action XD

well, i used to watch DBZ (like the freeza and cell sagas). my brother had a friend who would tape the episodes and then on friday, he'd give my brother the tape with an entire week's worth of episodes and i'd watch all the episodes on saturday. anyways, i'm currently watching yu yu hakusho and it's an awesome anime. i've just started on the sensui saga (the one after the dark tournament) and it's getting pretty action packed (that's how i like it). i'm really dying to try out one piece now but, it's TOO long. and, as myoti said, it's not even halfway done. so i don't think i'm gonna be watching that in a while. so let me (once again) change what i'm asking for.

if anyone knows of a good long anime (70-100 episodes) that contains lots of action or adventure that's COMPLETE. please tell me.
