I wanna see it too! The art looks really good and the movies tend to be better than the series. ^_^

Ruroken, my guess is the SS teacher got a copy of the e-mail that I received from my "friend" (I think I've downgraded her to something much less.. but that's another story).....

Anyway... the article was one of those "Pokemon is evil satanic stuff, and here's why" and then gives all sorts of half-truths and argues with "guilty by association" and slippery slope arguements.

I went to this guy's web site an the only thing missing from his "these things are evil" type page was Rock-n-roll... and I think that was too obvious to post.... included in his articles was one why Promise Keepers isn't a Godly orginization (because they allow Catholics to be involved in any way shape or form).

Really dumb stuff.... I had seen an show or two of Pokemon, not enough to be any kind of expert, but it read much like many of the scare tactic articles that used to circulate about D&D back in the 80's... so I stared researching these things for myself... and that's how I had gotten somewhat hooked on Pokemon myself.

My "friend" is one of those types... don't check the facts, someone said it so it's true... like the Onion article about Harry Potter... whatever your reasons for liking/not liking HP... the article was a complete work of fiction (playing on our own, er, stupidity as a Christian community) but people passed it around as truth.

Anyway... I've missed out on some of the last few movies, I might have to get them (just to say I've seen them) at some point :D

Not sure what you don't understand.. but that's ok.... feel free to post for clarification if I've been unclear (I tend to be at times I think)... or PM me if you want, either way.

I do have a thing for people not checking facts, just going on what someone else says... all my friends who used to send me those nifty virus warnings (the hoaxes, not the real ones)... they've all gotten an e-mail or two back... usually with links to places to check those things.

I've seen quite a few things over the years, been in many different groups and seen all sorts of opinions and ideas related to Christianity... it's definatley not boring :D

Well, I admit to be a closet pokemon fan. I own all the pokemon movies and have recorded most of the episodes. I'll probably see it, even tho I'm not as into as I used to be. ^^;;

I would say that the movies are better than the show.

Also, in my church, that same paper about Pokemon being Satanic began being circulated a few years ago. I was infuriated when my friends' parents started restricting them from it.
Then again, that was years ago...
I could care less now.

Sadly I doubt that we'll avoid such things in the future. Most of the people that are like that can't be bothered with researching the truth, they'd sooner believe the lie than take 5 minutes to figure out the truth (which is all it takes in most instances).

What kills me is that a "friend" of mine pulled all the Pokemon stuff out due to this sort of thing, and then still let her son Play Zelda (which has about as much Satanic stuff in it as Pokemon)..... Even Focus on the Family got the whole Abra-Kadabra-Alakazam joke (where the author of the article pointed to some dictionary defintion that supposidly said that these where Occultic words, which makes Bugs Bunny Satanic ;) )

What I've been known to do is send junk like that back to people with links to the origins as well as some other positive information... but it doesn't matter... on a similar issue this same friend who was passing on a HP article (the Onion one) fired back that she was just passing on what a minister had sent to her.

:rant:

sorry..... got carried away, I'm fairly passionate about this sort of thing... we (as Christians) do a fine job of making ourselves look like idiots with this sort of thing, yet people don't seem to care.... but thankfully you guys do! :thumb:
