I have a question for the Curmudgeon:

What is the most over rated anime, both at time moment and of all time?

Ten bucks says I can guess what his answer will be for the first.

Oh, I can really guess on what the answer will be.

1. Death Note

2. DN

3. Death Note

4. DN

5. Death Note

And I think that I forgot one guess, and that the answer will be Death Note!

Yeah,Death Note is definitely overrated.Too much hype. The animation isn't bad it's the acting that seemed to have been overly rushed.I mean it's like the rep. from AS was standing in the studio with them with a stop watch or something. As far as it goes Yuri Lowenthal would have been a better choice for Light than Brad Swaile. When they remake it with
Yuri Lowenthal as Light then I might rethink my opinion.(or if they air the sub version)

Adult Swim never dubs any anime, never has and never will. They only go and edit stuff out or in, if they have to. Viz is the one that dub the series, because they are the ones that got the rights to it.

Yes there is a sub, the sub is on the Viz's dvd's. Why shouldn't there not be a sub on the dvd's, since Viz is the one that pick it up. Please people, stop thinking that Adult Swim dubs anime, because they don't.

I never said they did.I only said that it seemed like it was too rushed.
Usually VIZ does a rather good job in dubbing(INUYASHA,RANMA 1/2,
BLEACH,etc.)but with Death Note they missed the boat IMO.

Now that said can we have some nonDeath Note related questions?

your wording wrote:I mean it's like the rep. from AS was standing in the studio with them with a stop watch or something.

That sounds like Adult Swim people were in the studio, when it was dub. So, from the sound of it, you are saying that Adult Swim had a hand in the dubbing.

I saw Paprika recently. Frankly, it made me feel like I had gone on a drug trip. It was crazy.

Best girl and gun series: Gunslinger Girl (haven't finished it yet, though)

I've got a follow-up to my previous question: What is the most UNDERRATED anime?

Got curious about whatever happened to this thread, did a search, and discovered this dangling question.

For me, the most underrated anime is "Kimagure Orange Road". People ought to remember this with glowing praise and great fondness, but I guess KOR had its heyday back in the VHS fansub days, and is hardly known to the youngsters at all.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May He cause His face to shine upon you.
May He lift up His countenance and grant you peace.

Maokun: Ninjas or Pirates? (Vikings are not a valid answer, sorry)

EricTheFred: Vikings are always a valid answer.
