Sizing an image in Photoshop 7?

Hi all,
I'm working on a image(300dpi, Pdf) that needs to be 6.625 X 10.25 in Photoshop7, only problem is when I resize it to that size the width changes to 6.627 and I even unlocked the "Constrain proportions box, and it still won't resize. I tried it with a 300dpi jpeg file, but it didn't change sizes.
What's going on, what can I do? Thank you for any help in advanced.

Ah. Yeah, I know what's going on here... An image of 6.625 inches at 300 pixels/inch means you need it to be exactly 1987.5 pixels. Since you cannot have half a pixel, you'll either have to have 1987 or 1988. You can pick.

For 1987 pixels, you'll get an image that's 6.6233333333333333333 inches (rounds to 6.623.
For 1988 pixels, you'll get an image that's 6.6266666666666666666 inches (rounds to 6.627).

I highly recommend changing your image ruler to pixels, and making it 1987 pixels. I would be extremely surprised if you were able to tell the difference on the end-result.

First off, is it really a .pdf file? ( .psd is native PS format) .pdf's can be kinda tricky sometimes in terms of edit-ability. But regardless, you should be able to resize the image. What are the current dimensions of the file that you are trying to change?

EDIT: Ah, that would make sense...

Currently 6.25X10.25 needs to be 6.625X10.25 I can change teh dpi to a larger number it it means it will be 6.625.

Change it to 240 or 288 Pixels/inch. That should allow you to hit the number right on. I think.

Unless my math is wrong.

it's a page from my comic book publishing it this month, that's why the specific H and W. Joe says it has to be at that exact length/width in PDF and also have a dpi of 300 or higher so should I make the dpi higher in order to get the 6.625?

So...you're actually making it a little bigger? Can you create a new document (300 dpi, 6.625x10.25) and then copy your page onto it? That might be the easiest way to try and fool it...

Make it 304 pixels/inch, then.

6.625 * 304 = 2014 pixels

That will be exact.
