Welcome to the second February session of CAA's Art School tutorials! This time we will be examining a few do's and don'ts of artistic composition. I've prepared a tutorial which can be viewed here:

http://www.workbenchepic.com/tutorials/Comp101_Full.jpg

I tried to outline each section clearly, but if anyone has questions or is confused by the words I used, please ask and I'll do my best to explain things better.

If you have suggestions or comments for the CAA Art School in general, please refer to the main discussion thread here:

http://www.christiananime.net/showthread.php?t=39580

I hope you all find the tutorial useful. Again, questions are welcome.

[EDIT] The address has been changed. It is also a larger file now, so it may take a minute to open.

That's a good tutorial! It's even sort of applicable to sculpture, believe it or not. Nice job!

I really enjoyed reading your tutorial, although I found it through your website update instead of through this thread. ;) Those hints are really useful, and they're something I can definitely apply to my own artwork. I'm sure they'll really help, so thank you!

Glad you guys all like it so far! I must not have been too esoteric then. (aha, ahahahaha.) Okay, so I've used that joke one to many times....

I think I gained a lot from looking at it. It supplements what I learned in a composition class once pretty nicely. Thanks a lot for putting that together. ^^
