Traditional Japanese Dress

Some people from my local homeschool group are putting on a costume ball and I was considering going in traditional Japanese attire. The look I was going for was much like a shinigami from Bleach - black kimono and hakama (with white kimono underneath), white tabi, and regular sandals. Unfortunately, my Internet search efforts are proving to be largely fruitless. Does anyone know where I can get these items for a reasonable price?

If you aren't looking for super-authenticity, you could try to find a pattern (like Folkwear or something) and local dressmaker (hopefully not a greedy one that overcharges for something that they spent all of 30 minutes on).

Cosplay sites are pretty good about advice on this kind of stuff as well. Especially a search on Cosplay.com.

You can even try to wing it and try to make it yourself since they are really are just strips of cloth.

Edit: As for hakama you could try the cosplay.com search as well or the pattern is on Folkwear too. Ooh! And a search through a karate site too.
And I suppose a shufti through ebay couldn't hurt, ne?

yea check out martial arts stores that deal with stuff like kendo etc. and you should be able to get them for a descent price. the top that they wear isnt actually a kimono it is a black Gi jacket, with the undershirt (cant remember what its called).

I've seen this one at Walmart before. It's assuming the people buying it are women of course....don't know why they don't have one that says it's for men. http://www.simplicity.com/dv1_v4.cfm?design=5839

*went and searched through more 4 more design sites*
Out of the major pattern sites I can remember, only this one had a pattern for men. http://store.sewingtoday.com/cgi-bin/butterick/shop.cgi?s.item.B6698=x&TI='kimono'&page=1 It would be the D design if you scroll down the page a bit.
