can somebody tell me what a dog's average life span is

If I count by my last dog... 10-12 years, depending on the breed and size of the dog? I have a suspicion that small dogs live longer than big ones (which mine have been) but I'm not entirely sure.

'tis true. big dogs live shorter lives. I believe the average is 14-15 years. In bigger dogs.
