Electrical Engineering!?

*appears out of nowhere* Yay! I have logged on at last! It's been like, forever!
Alas, my reasons for logging on are desperate.
My final "project" in Carpentry consists of a demonstrative speech with a visual, a paper, and an interview--with somebody in a chosen field of study.
Turns out that the field *I* chose is "electrical engineering" and I have everything done! Woo!!
...Except the interview. It's part of the paper, and the paper is worth the most points, so understandably, I want to interview the best darn electrical engineer you ever did see. Uh, if that makes sense. But the thing is, I don't know WHO to interview! And so we reach the point of this post. Does anybody have any ideas on who, or how to get in contact with someone, in the electrical engineering field?

Maybe contact the Institute of Electrical Engineers (iee.org) or the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (ieee.org), two major trade associations.

And you're doing this for carpentry?

You're sure you're not after an electrician right? That would make more sense if you're studying carpentry (e.g. housewiring and the like). In any event, the websites offered will contain some useful resources, although I'm not certain you'll be able to just grab someone out of the blue like that. You could try asking your parents or other relatives if they know any electrical engineers, or you could try caling some local companies that do work related to electrical engineering.

In addition of course, there are a few electrical engineers here (such as myself) who may be willing to answer some questions.

^_^ Yup! Carpentry. Eh, da prof approved it. Thanks for the sites!! But if I could convince somebody like Technomancer --*waves a plate of cookies enticingly*-- to do it, that might be easier than waiting for an email reply...
Waddya say? Interested? :brow:
