help on report
i am doing a report on the song i love to tell the story and i need to find more info so help if you can
i got the gooderist grade in english

I'd love to help, but I need a little spefic information:
1) What kind of report is it? Biographical, informative, review, etc.?
2) How long is it supposed to be?

I just did a quick google search and turned up the following sites. Now, always remember that google is your friend. Second, always remember not to trust your friends explicitely.
Really, only use the information on these sites if it's verified by some other sources or multiple sites.

Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.
Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.
But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. i got to know what was happenning in the authers life when she wrote it and it has to come from the net and i have to know the page where it was found

The story is in a book I have.

Here we go -- just as promised. ^_^ (It should be enough to get you started, anyway.)
"I Love To Tell The Story" was written by 32-year-old Arabella Katharine Hankey in England during the mid-1800's when slavery was in the process of being abolished. When she wrote it, it was originally a 100-stanza poem that kept her busy during an illness that confined her to her bed for a full year. Later on, composer William G. Fischer set part of her poem to music and had it published in 1869.
That's my own very brief summary of the text from page 109 of a book called "Then Sings My Soul -- Book 2" by Robert J. Morgan, which has the histories of a whole bunch of well-known hymns. Quite fascinating stuff.
You may still want to check out the web, though. ^_^;
