OOC: OK, let's start! Everyone's getting on the ship first.
Katelyn got on the ship and put her stuff down in her quarters. There would be two hours left before the ship departed.

Jenna was in her quarters. She was excited to be headed to a new planet.

Behind a pile of rubble near the ship, there was a flash of light. What looked like a teenaged girl stepped out from behind it. She glanced around. No one noticed. She quickly went into the ship.

Cooper

Flight Engineer Cooper Machale paced the engineering decks of the colony ship* with a subordinate, running through a long list of systems. A warmup session had blown a few couplings in the electronics conduit - nothing a couple aggravating, mind-numbing hours of replacing and retesting them couldn't fix. He glanced down at the tokamak they were walking above, imagining the ring of hydrogen plasma mashing together inside it.

"All right, next system." he said, "Oxygen conduits."

"Check, sir."

"Power status."

"35% of capacity, 94% efficiency. Output is running steady at 600 megawatts - check for takeoff!"

"Spiral amplifiers?"

"Che-hey, wait, what?"

"...Never mind. Keep it running clean; we leave in two hours, 'kay?"

"Yes, sir, but where are you going?"

"To...to, uh, make a report to the captain." With that, he walked up the stairs and up through the more habitable decks of the ship - the oxygen greenhouses, the crew quarters, up to the command deck. "There's no one here," he said, to nobody in particular. "There's no one here." Quietly, he stepped up to the command chair and sat down. "Tarask," he barked, his finger jabbing at invisible officers, "fire all cannons at vector Delta-Gamma 167. Lay down some supporting fire; Wachowski, engines to full - disable the gravity brake, we're gettin' out of here. 'But sir, we'll overload the engines! Are you crazy?' I'm not crazy, I'm getting us home alive! Do it now, I say!" He made the requisite space whooshing sounds as his fantasy ship hit full speed and left their battle behind them.

ooc: hey dia, why not have your character find her way into Jenna's quarters?

Katelyn pressed the commlink on her uniform and called Engineering. "Is everything ready?" she asked.

Miku wandered through the corridors, memorizing her surroundings. Hmm....these creatures are pretty good at building, but not nearly as good as us. she thought. Suddenly she noticed an open door. She went through it, she found herself in a living quarter room with a lady inside. Miku gasped, and pressed a finger to her ear. I hope the language tanslator works.

Jenna thought, "Why'd I leave that open? I don't know anyone here."
Then she saw the stranger. "Um hello there, little girl. Are you looking for your parents?"
(that's your cue, Dia.)

"No. I'm.....just looking around." said Miku.

"You mean you're all alone? What's your name?" asked Jenna.

"Miku." said Miku, glancing around, taking in her surroundings.

"My name's Jenna. Well, we got some time before we have to prepare to leave Earth. Why don't I show you around?" said Jenna.

"Alright." said Miku, amazed that the human actually understood her.
