Hello everyone I'm new here and hope I'm welcome with open arms...(I want to knwo how to get an avatar too)

We don't want you to get off on the wrong foot.
As far as getting an avatar is concerned, there are a lot of places on the internet to get them; you can just search for them in a search engine; you might even find one in a google image search. Once you get it, save it to your computer, then go up to user cp at the top of your screen. You'll see a list of options; choose avatar. You can upload from there...
