Well I want to make myself a little more comfortable around here..so why not post a little about myself. I hope I'm not the only 20 and over individual here, see that's one thing I always have tendencies to fear. I have been to a few forums and there are some really bright young people out there -- alot of the time smarter than adults. Problem is I still feel out of place.
Basically I'm a junior college student - I go to the University of Texas in Austin. Yes, Longhorns lost. I am studying in Computer Science but have a foundation of Computer Graphics including Digital Imaging and some Web Design. I also am a intern...yea go ahead pity me. Pretty much my interest consist of video games, anime, music, reading, science, computers and whatever else makes the world go-round is interesting to say the very least. I also love to write.....I would like to be a journalist but they say there is no money to be dealt with in that. I also play guitar and pretty much have an ear to all types of music you know stuff like Pink Floyd to the Beatles and even modern music like Thursday and Blindside.
That's about it in a sum.

There are plenty of people over 20 here, including myself. There are a lot of young ones too.
Have you seen Voices of a Distant Star yet? Considering your field it seems like something you might especially be able to appreciate.

No I haven't in all honesty but I sure wouldn't mind getting to see it. DVD, anime or documentary ??

It's a 30 minute stand alone anime. But the impressive part is that it was done entirely by one man on his computer. It's an excellent story and some good graphics as well. There's a review on it in the review section.
It also has documentaries and a "making of" as well.

Cool, plenty of cool members around your age here. So, what's your favorite video game genre? and game?

Well Link my favorite genre is first and foremost rpgs and strategy games. I love pretty much Final Fantasy (Except FFX), Chrono Trigger, Suikoden, Xenogears, FF Tactics, and Disgaea. But right now my game is Ninja Gaiden...awesome stuff.

Nice choice of games! Ninja Gaiden is awesome stuff and addictive too! Unquestionably one of the most challenging and fun fast-paced action games, I've play in a long time. It's a true test of gaming skillz.
Fan of Final Fantasy, except FFX. eh? why fer? disappointing? I'm quite curious to hear your opinion seeing how I loved the game. (FF6 is the best, though!)

Your so right on Ninja Gaiden -- it's incredible I'm at level 10 right now and I just disposed those two worms. It's hard but you're right, it brings out the GAMER in anyone who touches it.
As for FFX...I dunno I respect that you liked it. I just felt the story was too cliche and Tidus didn't fulfill my expectations as a main character. His voice was far too high-pitched and his relationship with Yuna was too similar to Cloud and Squall, there relationships with their respective 'love interest'. And the linear-approach didn't do it for me. I wanted to explore like in the past ones not ride on some map.
You're right again, FF VI is still the best. : )

I liked the story behind FFX. My real complaint was that they didn't have enough FF tie ins. They had Cid, chocobos, the airship, and only 3 of the classic summons. I wanted Odin and Ramuh and exploring etc.

Welcome!
I am also a gamer, although my favorite genres are fighting, strategy, and action (including action RPGs like gauntlet). Have you visited the arcade yet? Perhaps you can get a few high scores.

No I've haven't been to an arcade recently though I should. Though Gameworks doesn't have Gantlet -- I remember the original on NES though. Wonderful little gem.

I was referring to the CAA arcade, which you can find on the menu bar. They have some fun little games, especially since you are competing for high scores against other CAA members.

I see your point. I had around the same complains, but All-in-All I liked the game. It was one the first Next-gen games I play during its release. Personally, I'm really interest to see how FF-XII turns out.... guess I’ll have to borrow the neighbor’s PS2 again and take a vacation during it's release.

I am a game FREAK!!!!! Sometimes I spend my weekends playing games all and when I am done and ready for some sleep (morning til 12:00 sometimes 1:30) I totally forget to eat. Most of the time my parents get mad at me for doing nothing but playing video games, I think I get addicted to easy, and I get really made when I lose and stuff
that I start yelling at my PS2 and through my controler
. I am starting to get better and only playing games for only a couple hours and I have been working on my temper.
