CAA: Christian Anime Alliance

Hey everyone!

I happened across this site via Google within the past couple of months, and was so thrilled to find Christian-based reviews I've been using it daily ever since (both for anime/manga research-- you wouldn't believe how helpful that's been!-- and also to keep up on the current discussions in the Anime and Manga Mania forums), so today I finally decided to come out of lurking status and actually join in!

As a kid the only anime I knew and grew up with were Pokemon and Digimon (...though out of nostalgia I rewatched Digimon Adventure 01 & 02 recently, and hey, for a kids' show that was actually pretty good! ), but I only seriously started getting into (real ) anime and manga a couple of months ago (beginning with a couple of Studio Ghibli movies, which immediately got me hooked, and then after that it's been a straight run through several anime series and a heaping boatload of manga! ).

As for info about myself, I'm a female Christian who loves to read in general, and I also pretty much become a geek/nerd in any fandom I get into.

A big thank you both to the creators of this site and to all its participants for such an awesome resource-- I look forward to participating as well!

Haha, oh my, that's actually a pretty impossible question for me-- I both play and listen to music ardently , and at the moment I've got a personal collection of close to 400 CD's/EP's/etc.! I suppose this site would give you a small taste of the kind of bands I like, though I also like a lot of movie/TV show/etc. soundtracks too. (Oh, come to think of it, if I have to pick one particular song I've been listening to a lot lately, it's actually this track off of one of the Death Note anime OST's. )

And BTW, I love that quote in your footer from Soli Olds! FF5 is one of my top favorite bands.

This one isn't quite as impossible, but I actually have even more books than I do CD's! My favorites range from the big fantasy ones (Lord Of The Rings {and all of its associated material like The Silmarillion, the making-of stuff, etc.}, The Chronicles Of Narnia, Harry Potter, a bunch of Star Wars novels, etc. etc.) to older stuff like Alcott's Rose In Bloom and Pope's The Sherwood Ring/The Perilous Gard, to Ted Dekker's Blink/Circle Series/Lost Books/Sinner/etc., to pretty much anything by Bryan Davis, to lots more. Plus, of course, a bunch of manga!

Haha, I knew I'd be asked that a lot, so I actually decided to put my favorite manga in my footer. As for my favorite anime, I'm about to put a post in on the "What have you been watching" thread, which will include my faves as well as those that I have other opinions on.

Oh, and as for favorite (non-manga) authors, I mentioned a bunch of the novels I like in response to FllMtl Novelist above.
