CAA: Christian Anime Alliance

Howdy folks! Whilst trying to find (literally) 'christian anime' a few months ago, I came across this group but I only just recently joined due to my study commitments taking up a lot of my time!

Anyway, I think this site is awesome & would love to eventually write some reviews of my own to hopefully be of use to my fellow Christian anime fanatics, as well as hopefully making some friends along the way!

Wow! Thanks everyone for your responses & your welcome, I didn't really expect to get this much to be honest!

In answer to some of your queries, some of my favourite animes are Trigun, Blackcat, Angelic Layer (at least I think!) & I've been looking at GunXSword lately & haven't minded that too. As for mangas? Haven't really read much but the ones I've enjoyed most are "The Manga Jesus" & "The Manga Bible: From Genesis to Revelation" by Siku.

As for books & hobbies, I enjoy the Bible (teehee!), Mere Christianity by C.S Lewis, The Case for Christ & etc. by Lee Strobel; & apart from that I pretty much study film & tv as well as volunteer tv work at my church.

I'm not fussy and pretty much like anything that takes my fancy, though I recently found and looove Jesus Culture and Michael W. Smith. Basically anything from classical to country to hard rock (at times)!

(Also discovered Christian techno and reggae recently too! )

Blackcat is an amazing anime. Mere Christianity is also an amazing book. you obviously have excellent taste. what first got you into anime?

Yeah, I love Blackcat (it's surprisingly deep!) and C.S Lewis is an awesome writer too (has helped me get my head around some things.)

As for the origins of my interest in anime? I actually can't say for sure! I think I remember watching one of the earlier Transformers series and loving that when I was very little, and I'm afraid I used to be a very tradgic Pokemon fan a little later *cringes* I've also liked other series such as Dragon Ball Z and am also a fan of the 2003 Astro Boy series.

I guess you could say I've had an interest in the art form for a lot of my life, probably because I like it's unique style and its diversity in storytelling!

Yeah, it's funny how it's a switch. You'd think anonymity would let people say worse things than if their name was attached to it. But we try to be a good community here.

so true. i love the depth in the storytelling as well. i agree on the art. are you an artist yourself?

Hmm, I'd say I'm definately artistic in nature and I think I did the subject all the way through high school too (even wanted to be a comic artist during that tinme, funny eh?) I remember I actually wanted to be an artists when I was about 5 too!

I do study and have a passion for video work (which I'm studying at the moment), so I guess you could say I'm kind of an artist in that regard!

(I also seem to have a knack for writting too, but that's another story *pun* )
