Welcome to CAA!
Yay potatoes. :3 XD
Awesome, another writer!
Do you write poems, short stories, or novels?
Do you use a written outline?

@FMN - I write stuff that's longer than short stories, shorter than novels. Light novels, I guess. I haven't written a full 300,000 word novel yet. I don't use hard outlines. I do use them, but they're really flexible.
@GS - I love my potatoes.
@TWWK - Actually, I don't have a TV, so I can't watch tennis. Therefore, I have no favorite player. Does Ryoma Echizen count? And I do write fanfiction, as long as it's using my own characters. I make my own soul reapers, ninjas, and mercenaries. Ichigo, Naruto, and Ike are absent from my fanfics. I wanted to do a Higurashi fanfic at one point, then figured out that there was no way I could do that without at least using Rika.

Wow, this is the most friendly welcome I've got from a forum. It's awesome. Thanks, everyone.
Atria - my favorite Michael Grant book so far is Gone. I tried reading his older police stories, but I just couldn't get into them. Too long, far beyond my interest level. My favorite banned book--the Bible. I haven't been reading much recently, but I did enjoy Christopher Paolini's books (Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr [which I haven't finished yet]).

Um..... The Bible isn't a banned book ^.^" So what's your favorite actually banned book?

Not Band in the west you mean. And I get that, because I even nticed a Bible in our school library (It was an Old King James Version, though, so I doubt it's ever read) But what about places like North Korea and Iraq? It's probably the MOST banned book there

Cool!
Also, according to the
Beginning Writer's Answer Book:
If you're writing fiction:
Up to 1,000 words: short story, flash fiction, vignette
1,000-6,000 words: short story
6,000-15,000 words:long story or novelette
15,000-45,000 words: novella
45,000-120,000 words: novel (80,000 words is common)
Though, if you consider what you write a "children's novel":
Middle-grade novels can range from 10,000 to 30,000 words, and young adult novels can range from 25,000 to 50,000.
