Hi everyone! I've been lurking in the forums for a couple of weeks so I thought it was time i introduced myself :sweat:. I was really glad to discover CAA; it's good to know that there are other christians who like anime. I hope to contribute to the community.

About a year ago I discovered anime via the wonders of youtube and amvs. Since then anime has displaced books, computer games, and tv to become my dominant form of entertainment. Ok i still read a bit and play some civ IV, but anime is definitely an addiction. I wrestled with being a christian and liking anime until I realized that it's about the content and not the medium. However, I find anime to be a very powerful medium.

It seems to be a common question so I'll list some of my favorite shows (in no particular order):

Last Exile
Voices of a Distant Star
Code Geass 1 & 2
Aria (the Animation and the Natural; all i've watched so far)
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Heroic Age
Spice and Wolf 1 & 2

Hey, welcome to CAA! I'm David, and I don't watch much anime (I'm more of a gamer), but the community here is great, so...good enough.

It's great to meet another Civ4 fan; we seem to be somewhat hard to find, probably because they're too busy playing the game to post on forums.

I started a marathon game over the weekend and pretty much didn't go out of the house :sweat: Maybe we'll have to start a thread in the games section and see who comes out of the woodwork. You're only the third person I know who plays civ. Well, besides the awesome people at civfanatics. I'm glad to meet you!
