Joined CAA since this seemed like the best place to work on my current project: Developing a Sunday School lesson plan using the Haibane Renmei anime series as a focus. You can assist with this in the Projects thread.
  • Usually prefer dubbed (so shoot me, I want to engage my eyes looking at images, not words) but I can deal with subs too.
  • Retired Naval Officer (submarines, reserves)
  • Infatuated with Sango (Inuyasha)
  • Currently hacking my way through Xenosage II
  • Married, two daughters, teach a Sunday School class (adults), sing tenor in church choir
  • Been >3 miles deep in a small, 3-man submersible. Not a record, but still pretty cool falling down in the ocean for about 4 hours just to get that deep.

This curriculum thing is really taking a lot of work! OK, so right now we have about 10 of 13 episodes completed. And I'd better get the other ones done, since I start teaching this tomorrow. I already teach a Sunday School (adult) class, so I'm going to experiment on them (in the medical field, I believe this is called "practicing").

Major announcement (well I think so):

The 9 month ordeal to develop a Sunday School lesson plan to accompany the Haibane Renmei anime series is finished!

Haibane Renmei Lesson Guide

Plenty of spoilers in the plan, so please watch the series first.

Well, this was the original reason I joined CAA. Not that I'm going to leave now...I am knee deep in Prayer Requests.

Well, I suppose I've been here about a year now. I am very happy with my stay so far:

Finished the Haibane Renmei lesson plan and actually gave my adult class the "opportunity" to let me use it on them. BWAHAHA.

Joined the Prayer Guardians. My prayer life has seriously matured because of this. Also had a Prayer Partner who helped me work through an area of sin in my life that I have thus far dealt with rather well in 2006 (my new year's resolution).

Met large numbers of really cool people from all over (virtual meeting, of course).

Become convinced that ALL women on CAA are attractive. No kidding, I've checked around on this and have yet to discover any exceptions. Of course most are 1/3 to 1/2 my age. And I'm married. With children.

Speaking of which, wife and daughter are both CAA members! Have I led them astray? They had to join, since I raved about it so much. Yeah, then there's that "who are all these women Dad is writing to?" thing... Daughter Raven is very sensitive to that for some reason...

This site is so excellent. Thank you moderator dude(tte)s.

Here it is, my 500th Post. Hardly seems possible. Not only that, I have been named Item King by my trusty .Hack//Quarantine game! I feel like such a load has been lifted. (OK, duh, I'm blessed that my gaming progress actually qualifies as a stress in my life). I can go on now with life away from the console.

...except that .Hack//GU volume 1 is out. Nooooooooooooooooo.

Back after a several month hiatus. I got kind of burned out in the Prayer Room (I read it every day for months, and there's a lot to pray for in there). In addition, two tremendous influences came into my life:

.Hack//GU (parts 1 and 2 so far)

Final Fantasy XII

Tremendous isn't necessarily a good thing, I suppose.

Anyway, last weekend I was sort of bombarded, hint-wise, that I needed to get back on the routine prayer thing again. So, I am back on CAA since it seems to feed that spiritual need.
