G'day

Postby Anime Dad » Wed Jun 15, 2005 10:47 pm

I guess with over 20 posts it's a bit late, but.....

G'day.

I'm from Oz, introduced to anime through my kids, who are 14, 11 and 10. It's great to find a place where anime and Christianity mixes nicely, and a place where I don't feel like a freak for having an interest in something most people consider "childish"

Nice to meet y'all :)

Here we go.... Hey Anime Dad, welcome.

What anime did your kids get you into? DBZ, Pokemon or the like?
When did you become a Christian and how ? (like through family upbringing, outreach from friends etc.)

And what State are you in?

Thanks for the welcomes.....

My kids used to watch Pokemon, DBZ and Yu-gi-oh, which I didn't like that much. But my son is now into Cowboy Bebop, Trigun and Rahxephon, which is much better ;)

As for my Christianity.... I grew up in a non-Christian family (great family, but not Christian unfortunately). I became friends with a Christian girl, who invited me to her church. Eventually I came to realise that my life meant nothing without Jesus in the centre of it.

BTW, that girl and I got married, and we're celebrating our 20th anniversary later this year :)

I didn't actually give my life to Jesus until we had been married for about 5 years though. God is patient!

Thanks... I think? *is not sure what a glomp is :)*

Um, i've not "converted" my dear wife yet. But I believe she was watching Cowboy Bebop with my son the other day :)
Cowboy Bebop is definitely my favorite, I also like Trigun and Rahxephon. I'll have to look out for some more....

As I understand a glomp is an extreme hug over the Net. I could be wrong though. Nice to hear some more about you!
