This here is a thread to answer any questions you may have about me (within reason), since I've been here for almost a year and my original intro thread is gone...if there ever was one (I forget) and most people here wern't here when there would have been one.

Ask away!

Like, to ask you questions?

Yes... I hit the tab and enter buttons somehow when I made the thread and it was created without any text... I have fixed it now... I would prefer that they were questions that would build a who's who type bio.

Why'd you pick a chocobo for your avatar? XD;

I was watching Final Fantasy Unlimited when I joined and there's a chocobo charachter thats in it that I happened to really like (named Chobi), and I like Final Fantasy in general, so I made my av the chocobo charachter. I would have considered using a Hellsing avatar around that time since I was watching it, but I was so paranoid about getting banned when I first joined I decided to go for the more friendly avatar.

What are your favorite bands and styles of music, Mechie?

PostPosted: Mon Dec 06, 2004 2:28 pm
by mechana2015
Well...

My Favorite Bands:
These are bands that I like a lot, listen to the lyrics, if there are any and they always are listenable, no matter my mood.

Sheltershed- I dont know if they're a "band" per say, they're actually a group of DJ's. They spin heavy industrial techno and are christian.

DC Talk- I can listen to almost every song they ever made happily.

Switchfoot- Beautiful lyrics, awesome messages, rocking band. Lead singer has a good voice too.

Newsboys- seen 'em live like, 3 or 4 times. Their music still has mmeaning to me after yeeeaaarrs of listening to them.

Canadian Brass - Gyahh... I can listen to this band... a lot. Guess its the brass player in me.

There are songs by other bands that I like a lot more than some of the songs by these bands, but these are the top BANDS that I like.

Styles: Top 5
5. J-rock - i just got introduced to it recently. I like this genre since i don't have to listen to lyrics, and the voice becomes another instrument... and the stuff just rocks.

4. Jazz - Man do I like this stuff. I'm a frusterated jazz musician at heart I think, since I can't play it most of the time. I can't dance to it either, but I love the sound of it.

3. Techno - I listen to a lot of electronic music...dunno why I like it so much. It seems so interesting how it get's put together and whatnot.

2. Christian Rock/Ska- Second form of music I got into... also the only other genre than #1 and Jazz that I've attended concerts for. I've been listening to this stuff for quite a while.

1. Classical - The genre that I have listened to the longest, the genre I always go back to when I get tired of almost everything else. My participation in the genre helps with this unending love of this genre.
Thanks for asking!

Hmmm....you might have mentioned this before but...why 2015? Does it have something to do with some significant year in the future?

by mechana2015
2015 was the original year that I set one of my storys that I wrote in (Mechana was the title). Creative arn't I! XP

The meaning has been changed recently, when the story cleared several years in setting, to a special code used to call in the title organization in to investigate. Kinda like you hear on the police shows "weve got a 2015 at Lark and Elm streets!" Heh. I also decided not to specify a time period for occurance so i could play with the events easier.
It's also the year I turn 31... like that means anything.

are you a member of any other forums?
Do you know in the real world any people from the CAA?

In order:
I am a member of several other forums but frankly, I'm not a very good one. I have posted at Guild of Redeemed Gamers, but I rarely posted there. I am also a member at deviantart under the name animetedskier (its in my sig as well), and I maintain that fairly well. I have a livejournal that I neglect for months on end... I am beginning to find that I am becoming too busy to maintain a large amount of forums. I am also a member of a forum for our schools Pep Band, and I do a bad job there too... I post once a month at the most, though it proves useful for finding out important info on our activities such as call times and what not.

Hehe... this is a fun one.
I recruited three members here so I know them from the real world. One is ArcticWolfQueen who mostly lurks. The second is Joan of Arc FKA Sheherezade, who I went to school with for a year. The third is Mysticalsphynx, who lurks a lot. I've known her since High School, and she's one of my best friends. Since joining CAA I've met one member in real life: mobilesuitpilot. We've hung out a few times recently. Really a fun person to hang out with, funny too :).

Uh oh sounds like i'm in trouble... ^^;;

Ok, my turn to ask questions.

Yay!

1) When did you become a Christian?
Age 6 or 7. Actually... the date is pretty fuzzy to me, but I remember the event quite distinctly. I recommited back in July 1999.

2) What is your statement of faith?
I believe that the Bible is the complete inspired word of God. I believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God and as prophicied in the Bible, was born to earth from a virgin, lived a sinless life and died on a cross to pay the price of sins committed by all. He then arose after three days and ascended to heaven. I was a sinner at By my acceptance of Gods gift of grace (ultimate sacrafice to pay my penalty) I gain the gift of eternal life with him as a result of that action. (Best I can come up with quickly...I probably missed somthing critical in that :shady:)

3) Do you feel your in the center of God's will?
I really think God put me where he wants me. As to a more specific answer... I think so, I really feel like I'm in the right place currently.

...and BTW you ask hard questions.

that is an accurate representation of our first real-life meeting.
Actually it's so accurate I was laughing as soon as I saw it...way accurate.

I know they were hard, Paul. That's one reason why I asked them. I wanted to hear what you believe, coming from the source, you know? Oh, and you're not in trouble. I thought yesterday you decided not to mention getting slam-hugged. Oh well. You must've changed your mind.

Yeah, I thought it was harmless and humerous commentary, and STtM brought up the meeting anyways. :)

1) Do you have any sibling(s)?

2) How would you describe the relationship between you and your parents?

3) Do you like the wind or the rain better?

PostPosted: Tue Feb 01, 2005 8:18 pm
by mechana2015
1) No. I am an only child. I joke that Mysticalsphynx is my sister, since we think exactly the same way, but I am an only child and wil be for all time.

2) Really good. I get along quite well with them. Currently I'm a little sad since I havn't been able to see them recently. We get along well though, since they try to let me live and guide me kindly, as well as attempt to understand me and my inclinations.

3) Rain. Wind is an infernal annoyance. It blows snow around, inverts my umbrella, messes with my car when I'm driving and generally annoys me. This may be partially due to my High School days being spent at a school with days of high winds (60+ winds). Alternatively i really enjoy the rain, since it results in safety for my family in a forest that has almosty burned due to drought several times. It also makes for cool pictures after it stops.

1) Any pet peeves (things you absolutely don't like)?

2) Which Star Wars trilogy do you like the best (Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and that new one; A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi)?

3) What inspired you to become an artist?

4) What's your all-time favorite music artist (or band)?

PostPosted: Fri Feb 04, 2005 12:49 pm
by mechana2015
1) Rude people. Bad driving, especially in expensive cars. Girls that like to display ample amounts of what I dont need to see. Reality TV, teen TV (dawsons creek etc.). Whiny music (any song where the guy is complaining over and over to an uninteresting repetitive musical theme). Men hitting on me, or touching me in ways other than a handshake or a hug (if I know them well).

2) Hehe well I like the original series better, but I like the Thrawn Trilogy (books) better than either. Mara Jade is introduced if I remember correctly :D.

3. God? I really have been an artist artsy type person since I could hold a pencil/crayon. In college i was inspired by my normal classroom activities... drawing.

4. I have too much music to have one really... scary thought actually.
