Hello, all! I've never even posted a bio about myself, but I'm going to take the time to do so now.

Hmm... where to begin? Well, as of November '04, I am a senior at the University of Virginia's College at Wise (conveniently 20 minutes from my hometown), where I will be graduating with a B.A. in Communication and a B.S. in Computer Information Systems in May of '05. I'm the editor-in-chief of the student newspaper, and this is my third (and final.. :sniffle: ) year as editor.

Oddly enough, I'm an anime fan (who would've guessed?), and I'm a huge fan of anime comedies. I also love video games, especially platform titles. My favorite video game characters are Luigi and Mega Man (the original Mega Man, not neccessarily all this new-fangled stuff the whippersnappers like these days).

What else to say, what else to say? Oh, about that title for this thread. I have TONS of nicknames, and "R to the O" is one of them. R to the O is a shortened form of "R to the O to the G to the E to the R," which was a nickname my cousin gave me because I was doing well in a math class in high school (exponents, etc.). I'm also called Rogie, Roagie Hoagie (a play on my first and last name), Rogeroli, Rogues, Roger Dodger, R-Dog, and Jimmy Neutron (I hate that last one).

Oh, my future plans are that I'm going to grad school next year at the University of Tennessee, where I hope to get a Master's and then a Ph.D. in journalism/converging media, after which I hope to teach college (my lifelong dream).

Some random things: I like to sing, I like to dance, I like to wear khaki pants. I like to write, I like to rhyme, I like to ponder about time. And I love to smile! :thumb: (Sorry, maybe I get tired of the rhyming thing sometimes.)

So, any questions for R-dog, R 2 the O, or any of my other aliases? Ask away, fellow CAA members!

Nice to get to know you! Out of curiosity, is there something specific that got you interested in journalism, etc.? Media sounds like such an interesting job.

Actually, I took three terms of journalism in high school, where I worked on the yearbook and loved to lay out pages. The page layout and design of newspapers are the things that got me into journalism more and more, although the writing is also appealing in some ways. Not many people choose page design for research topics, so I've got a pretty open field to work with there, too!

Hey, nice to finally meet to you Rog. I think its a GREAT idea to introduce yourself to everyone. What a cool thing to do.
Nice intro, now heres some questions;
Are you from a Christian household?
If so; when did you realize that Jesus ACTUALLY totally loves you? /If not how did you become a follower of our Lord?

What is your faviroute anime EVER?... hehehe

And what does your taste in music entail? Bands, Genres etc...

And now that you are over 21... (america, tisc tisc) do you have a faviroute beer, or beverage?

Well, let me answer those questions. Everyone in my household isn't saved; in fact, my mom didn't get saved until after I was born. My dad is still lost (please pray for him, by the way), and my sister was saved later on in life.

I got "saved" when I was 7, but I didn't really make the commitment (or truly feel God's love) until I was 19, right after I had finished reading the Bible all the way through -- it was an amazing experience. :)

My favorite anime... Well, Metropolis is definitely my favorite anime movie, and my favorite series is Jubei-chan (although I'm thinking Azumanga Daioh might overtake Jubei after that last DVD comes out soon -- yeehaw!). *Ahem*

As for music, I love contemporary Christian music, as well as techno music (just about anything with a good beat). My favorite band is FFH.

And yes, I do have a favorite beer. I like root beer. :grin: I don't drink alcoholic beverages, but I like the virgin variety of a strawberry daquiri. I mostly drink Dr. Pepper otherwise.

Whew! I think I answered them all now. :lol:

Anything else? :thumb:

Umm, for now;

What made you read the Bible, in the first place?
... it can be pretty boring around the; "and Johnothan had a five children and they were, Ben, Shen, Hen, Glen and Fred, and they married Sally, Mally, Hally, Rally, and Bianca, and Ben had a billion children and they were..."

Have you ever left the US of A? And why not? :)

Oh, I just decided one day: "Y'know what, Roger, you need to start reading the Bible every day, no questions asked." So I did, although it was rough at first, since I was reading the King James Version. Later on, however, I found a Student Bible (NIV) that my mom had bought for me and I had never touched and found that I could understand things and began to really enjoy reading the Bible. I think by that time, I was in Judges, so I had actually gotten through those tremendous first books with all the history and laws, etc.

Right now, I'm jumping back and forth between the Old and New Testaments to get through the Bible. For example, I read Genesis and then maybe Matthew.

And no, I'm not one of those people who can read the Bible all the way through in one year. My Student Bible has a reading plan that allows you to read the Bible in three years, taking your time and studying the material more in-depth than just wearing yourself out three or four chapters at a time.

And no, I've never left the U.S. I guess one reason is that I'm afraid of flying (but I somewhat got over that when I flew to New York in 2001). Another reason is that I've just never done it -- I've never had or taken the opportunity. I would love to visit Japan (go figure).

Wow, didn't check this one for a while.

Well, Chris, I like some monkeys, but I do not like the band, the Munkees. I guess it's on a case-by-case basis there.

I will tell you that I do not like spiders, snakes, worms, most fish, and butterflies (unless the butterflies are far away from me).

Heh, heh, I guess I'm a little weird. But I do like cats, dogs, foxes, raccoons, and tigers (especially white tigers!). Okay, I'll shut up now.

Any more questions, animal-related or not?
