Hello! I am Sonic Rose aka. Sonic the Rose. Aka. ~Forever Sophie~.
I've loved video games for a long time, and they are largely made in Japan. Japan, I find is where my favorite childhood Cartoons came from - Grimm's Fairy-Tale Theatre, Noozles, Lil' Bits, Samurai Pizza Cats and Ronin Warriors.
It wasn't until Sailor Moon was out and at the peak of her popularity and I was going "uhh... What's the big deal with Sailor Moon?" That the link between Japan, Anime, and Video games finally clicked in my brain. Since then, I've become a Level 4 Otaku according to one survey. Fortunately I am not a level 5 Otaku with no life... eeto.....
Well, I'm currently studying Japanese language and culture. I became a Christian a few years ago, I'm artistic and I sing. So, finally, starting to learn Japanese, I find Wow.... Art and Practicality! (Japanese writing is so beautiful!)
I'm a literal 6 day creationist, anti-evolution, pro-KJV. In Creation Ministry I've seen some very amazing things, and it's amazing how often the word evolution comes up in daily life. As usual, Christianity runs against the grains of what's "Popular."
In any event, I've been wondering what my talents could be used for and I think Japanese Language could be my outlet! According to what I've read, Japan is still very much infatuated with America and American Ways and colture, I know English is a required course like Spanish or French is here. And well... they have so much hearsay about the bible, there's quite a few actually interested to learn it. What better way to teach a gaijin (foreigner) Language, than through the Bible? Besides it does a good Soul-Clensing in the process!

So how did you end up decorating cakes?

Thank you ! Domo arigato gozaimasu. Hajimemashite Shooraijin-san. Atashi wa Sonikku Rosu desu.
(Ranma = Classic)
LoL Well... my first part time job was at Food Town (local Grocery Chain) in the deli, and I liked it, but they cut my hours, so I started applying at other places. Eventually, I was called by Kroger and asked about Bakery... I had no experience, but I said I'm a fast learner, and I am artistic... So... Three years later, I'm still here (though looking for another job currently.) As I am a cake decorator, I managed to finally make the Sonic the Hedgehog cake I have always wanted and a My Little Pony Cake the following year.
I was also homeschooled my last 4 years of education, and have my GED (highschool equivilancy). I'm also prodding around trying to get information on places locally that have advanced Japanese language studies, though I haven't ruled out art as a possibility either. So we'll see what the Lord has in mind for me eh?

The easy way:
Here's a site to do it for you:
http://dlc.deanza.fhda.edu/
Just signup for an account under "student tools" and click on the "convert" button on the left side.
If it doesn't work just right, let me know and I'll fix it.
The hard way:
Are you on a windows computer or a mac or a linux box? Let us know the OS you have, and we'll find you a good tutorial.
edit: Click on my username and find my AIM/MSN screen names, if you want, and I'll give you more info. Ooops. Fixed the link too.

What up? You sound like a really kewl person. Except you're only a level four Otaku...you're readin' the words of a bona-fide Level Five Otaku with no life. I have yet to gain enough experience to reach level six...mostly because I've never watched Kenshin before, which seems to be a super popular anime on this site.
Oh, and you like Ranma. You get a hundred cool points.
Well, see you around.

Heheee! Yes, I died and went to heaven when I found this "Asian Grocery" [originally named [Asian Grocery] and they had Pocky! I stocked up on it for Otakon 03, for $2.45 for a twinpack and $0.99 for a single strawberry. At Otakon they were selling the same packs for $5 and $3 dollars.
Then I died again when I found Tee Oriental Foods (Another local Asian Grocery). THey have the BIGGEST Pocky Selection I have ever seen! *points to Signature* That is Pocky I have 3373n.
So lol. I may be an otaku in the highest degree... eheh ^^;
Do I get another hundred points for liking Tenchi Muyo? *holds up the OAV boxed set, the 3 movies, and vol 1 of Universe*
Nice to see you all! *must join the Insomniac club at some point...*
And Rurouni Kenshin Roxxorz. ^_^ I love it, the lead character's a bishounen with bloody past, trying to atone for the lives he took durring the revolution. He wraps himself ina light-hearted spirit, protecting those he cares for - his friends. The characters have dimension, the fights are awesome, the comedy is always on cue... ^_^ *hugs Kenshin til his eyes pop out* oops... Aheh, I've seen 83 of the episodes, athe the three movies - Trust/Betrayal, and Reflections. Warning - the movies are drawn different than the series, T&B contain lots of blood. They are also much heavier themed than the series - if you pick it up it will add wonderful background to Kenshin, and a drama far above the series, and Reflection will show you the tragic end of the hero you've followed for 95 episodes.

Okay, hmm, let's see...
That's +100 cool points
for owning the Tenchi Muyo box set...but, also -25 cool points
for owning Tenchi Universe (I didn't like Universe)...the three movies I am impartial to, even though they are based on the TV series...so, that's a 75 cool point
gain for you. Not too shabby, I must say.
