I'm so thrilled to find a Christian anime forum!!! I first got into anime on video when I was in high school, which was a while ago! I recently started watching again on adult swim's anime and I LOVE Big O!!
I'm possibly strange here b/c so many anime fans are teens and I'm...well I'm not! I'm actually a homeschooling mother of 4. So now you know my secret...shhhhhh!

Hajimemashite!
My "baby" sister was homeschooled, too. She's now a second-year at UC Irvine School of Medicine, just in case anyone thinks homeschoolers can't cut it.

Oops! I meant to add that it's nice to know there's some other homeschoolers in here too!

Have you ever seen "My Neighbor Totoro" by Myazake? (The same artist who did "Spirited Away?") I just watched that again today, and I love it, but it's great for little kids too.
Oh yeah! Hello and Welcome!
And you're not nearly the only adult on this site. I think you'll fit right in!

Welcome aboard, glad to have you with us. As has been said, you aren't the only adult. In the General forum you'll find a thread called "Age Demographics." Vote and learn the real composition of CAA.

Smooth UC.
Welcome! Like it's been said, "You are not alone." Florida, eh? I'll bet THATs a fun place to be this time of year.
And by the way, there is no such thing as 'strange' on this board! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Ung!
Oops. Blew a fuse. ERROR. ERROR.

Hello and welcome. Always good to have another middle ager with us. My wife homeschools our two (our daughter 14 and son 11). The kids and I are the anime fans of the family. There are lots of great titles out there that are certainly age appropriate (Snow Fairy Sugar, Fancy Lala, My Neighbor Totoro that has been mentioned, and many more). And that's why this site is so great. Great to have you aboard and look forward to hearing a lot from you.

Welcome, Negotiatrix!
Yeah, we have all ages here. I've found that two areas of conversation and community where age generally doesn't matter that much are anime and faith.
Hope you find out about some great anime series here for both you and your kids!

Big O, huh? we should do a break down of favorite anime by age. one of my friends dads liked Outlaw Star, its prolly more personality than age, but i wonder.

I'll have to look for that next time we're in the "big city" (Miami). Where I live the video store selection is really awful. But my brother says there's a store in Miami Beach with a huge anime section. Yea!!

If you're looking to buy anime and not just rent it, you might want to check out ANIMEniacs.com. Here's a link on this site with a discussion about it:

I'm not a teen... I'm not a mother (or even a father), but I'm not a teen... Almost half of us are teens, almost half are college age, and a small fraction are older or younger than that.
