Anything you ever wanted to know about Ash
PostPosted: Mon Jun 02, 2003 2:15 pm
Name: It was once upon a time Ashley, but since I met these crazy mainer friends of mine, it's now almost always Ash.
Age: Well I'm a senior, does that count? No seriously though, I'm 16...and a half. (to the day, actually)
Class of: 2004
Hometown: Houston, Texas; home of the Texans, the Astros, Enron and the best Tex-Mex food in this country. No I don't speak a word of spanish (I'm taking Latin thank you). I've lived here almost all of my life, except for two years in Bellingham, Washington.
Gender: Female
Physical blurb: Tall, brown hair down to my shoulders, brown eyes
Where you would find me at school: The editor's office in journalism, the history ap classroom, the latin room, the digital graphics computer lab, anywhere polarly opposite of the math hall and the cafeteria.
Favorite males: Lifehouse, the Newsboys, Shatterheart, Lightbringer, my brother Chris, Harrison Ford, Vash the Stampede, Pastor Westfall
Genetic descent: Scottish, possibly British in there too...mostly Scottish though.
Dream job: working at Pixar
Things I'd rather do then work : kayaking, roller blading, ice skating, nestle down with a good book, read some manga, listen to the rain
Speaking of work...: I'm a waitress.
Favorite Authors/Subject: C. S. Lewis, Gilbert Morris, Francine Rivers, Kate Ross, nearly anything involving King Arthur and/or Robin Hood. Yeah I'm a sucker for that sort of stuff.
Movies I'm not ashamed to admit I like : Finding Nemo, Beauty and the Beast, The Patriot, The Man in the Iron Mask, The Princess Bride, Robin Hood, A Knight's Tale
Anime Seen List:Trigun, Gundam Wing, Ronin Warriors, Outlaw Star, 8th MS team, Hamtaro, Tenchi Muyo, Iria...pretty much anything that was aired on Toonami, my main source. What I look for in an anime is good plot, characters more than animation wise.
Well I'd actually be pretty shocked if no one here knew me already. If you didn't know already, I founded CAA August or so of 2001. It's hard to explain how it happened---God just pretty much said, "I have a job for you, are you up for it?" To be honest I'll never really be sure why God chose me to do this job, but I do know that I wouldn't trade it for anything. It's really taught me quite a bit on leadership, decisions, and my own Christian walk. It's also given me two of the bestest friends I could ever ask for. My one goal is to please my Lord by making an impact for Him, and trust me, without Him alone this would not be at all possible. I see myself as sort of the shepherd(ess) of CAA, and I don't want anything to happen to my "flock". I've been a true Christian for about 2 years now, but I grew up in a Christian home. Aside from CAA, I also help out with two other online ministries. I help put Renew, a Christian e-magazine online, and I'm currently auditioning to help with Steelblood, a radio show. Speaking of Christian like things, my church is Calvary Chapel Houston, which is technically non-denominational. We have about 50-60 youth and around 200-300 adults. Theologically, it's like being a more liberal baptist (we're okay with dancing). While all of my friends and family are incredible with video games, I am not. The only one I've ever played all the way through is Ocarina of Time. Still, I like to watch games and follow the video game scene nonetheless. I think my hand-eye-coordination skills are just not up to pace with today's video game standards. Hmm, little known facts about me. I don't know where I want to go to college, but I'm looking at the University of Texas, University of Houston, and Texas Christian University. I love to cook. I'm a star wars freak. My favorite actor of all time will always be Harrison Ford. Thus, I am an avid Indiana Jones fan, as Shatterheart and Gypsy will attest. I love the LoTR movies (who doesn't?) and elves (not the dinky Santa Clause wannabes either!). If you want to see my absolutely thrilled, give me Mountain Dew, Reeses or Cookies n' Cream ice cream. I also love watching football, and my favorite team is the Oakland Raiders. This is actually quite new; the 2002 season was the first time I actually sat down to watch even a single football game. Much thanks goes to Steve for converting me and patiently explaining my silly questions. Whew, this is getting long, but I'm trying to think what else you guys might want to know about me. I spend most of my time online, either talking or fiddling with CAA or something. Someday I hope to settle down with a Godly Christian man and have some little boys.
