My life is boring. If you were to spend one day in it, having been in a normal life, you would be banging you head on the wall until you fell into a coma. Any way, this thread is about me. I decided to post this when I was close to a hundred posts, so that way, I would make sure I didn't get banned. If you read this, minutes of your life have just been wasted. This is about me once again. I love music, that's basically who I am. The only music I hate is new country, pop, rap, polite punk, and r&b. Other than that, I like everything, mainly rock. I love movies, especially horro and action movies. I play drums. I goto school. I work out. I go to a horrible church where everyone there is a hypocritical Bible Banger. I hate that church, but I'm forced to go there. That's all about me. Enjoy these seconds of life you wasted on me!

Dually enjoyed.
However, I doubt that your life is more boring than anyone else's. Out of curiosity, why are you forced to go to that church? If you'd rather not get into that, I can understand.

Boredom is a state of mind and only you can control that. Anyway, it's nice to meet you. I pray God shows the good in your situation - every church has hypocrites and every church has the faithful.

Oh, the reason why I'm forced to go to that church is becuase my mom is the music director and my dad's a deacon, and they force me to go because it'll look bad on them if I go to another church that actually cares for people instead of just brandishing them a sinner. Not saying I'm not one, everyone is. More along the lines of calling everything evil and hating people before they know them.

Ouch! that sounds rough!
by the way nice to meet you!
Now I know this is gonna sound corny but life is just as bad as you make it. I'll pray for your situation.

That was corny. But life isn't as bad as you make it. Life is horrible and most people don't see it.

A lot of people think life is horrible. I used to wish everyday that I was dead until I was saved.
Life is wonderful and most people don't see it.

I have Christ, and life is still horrible. Life with Christ isn't great at all. Whoever promises that is telling lie. Look at Job. I'm sure he loved having all his wealth and his children destroyed. Look at third world country christians. I'm sure they love being tortured every day because of thier faith. Non-christians think life is great. There usually the rich ones.

i have to agree with pK a little here. Christ never promises, "Join up with me and it's peaches 'n' cream every day!!" in fact, being a christian can make your life harder. As Christians, we choose to believe and follow Christ not because we expect material benefits, or happiness, but because we know that it is true and correct. your changeable and uncertain 'feelings' shouldn't come into the question of faith. how many fall away because of some personal crisis or because they simply don't have the good feelings that Christianity once gave them?

James 1
2Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
9The brother in humble circumstances ought to take pride in his high position. 10But the one who is rich should take pride in his low position, because he will pass away like a wild flower. 11For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich man will fade away even while he goes about his business.
12Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
13When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. 15Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
16Don't be deceived, my dear brothers. 17Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. 18He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.
James 5:1Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming upon you. 2Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes. 3Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days.
Matthew 16
25For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it. 26What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? 27For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father's glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done.
have you trully decided to follow him or have you became luke warm. are you you just going with the flow untill something tough comes along then you back down and turn away not letting God perseve and finish the work that He has started in you. You brought up Job a man that faced many trials but he never backed down in his faith he perservered allowing God to work in him and making him compleate. you seem to be focusing on the hard part of Jobs life and not the plan that the Lord actully had in his life.

life sucks and he's still christian, ne? and so I am I, but I don't think life is one giant bundle of joy after another. it's true that we can take heart and joy in the knowledge of salvation, and that riches, of course, are no guarantee of happiness. but life is still hard, and I don't fault PK for being realistic about it.
but PumpkinKoRn, man, have a nice All-American Coke and get over it. no reason to whine.

i never said it would in fact my life has gotten harder the closer i have gotten to Christ. Happiness is based on the things and situations going on arround where as joy and the peace come from a close fellowship with God. I have gone thru some very hard times but i have joy knowing that i will allways have a relationship with God.

This little discussion should stop now. It really isn't going to accomplish much of anything. I have only this to say, and further discussion should be taken to PM.
Yes, Christianity can make your life harder. No, it doesn't have to. Nothing says you have to be happy to be Christian. Note that the verses indicated blessed is the man who perseveres. On the other hand, there's no reason to be more unhappy than you have to. A state of mind can change a great deal.

I am not complaining.
Myself, I almost always drink water. In the presence of carbonated beverages, I go for Root Beer whenever possible.
