Trigun's my favorite anime ever. So I took that, threw in an "X" just for the heck of it, and added "89" which is my birth year.

I was just seeing all these people change their names. All these user titles would say "Formerly known as bla bla bla" so I decided to parody that... Though, now I just HAVE to have that as a screen name somewhere...

Not bad. I was wondering if that was just to be funny, or you actually did have that from somewhere...

I was thinking...uh...Kenshin. Yeah. That's what Kenshin means: Heart of Sword.

Oh well. It was a cool name. (no, not Heart of the sword, just "Heart of Sword") And I like to swordfight. ^^x
Heart of Sword's Rhapsody

Money, get away
Get a good job with good pay and you're okay
And all and all you're just another brick in the wall
Shoutin’ in the street gonna take on the world some day
But Bismallah will not let me go
Because I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

Tommy used to work on the docks
Union's been on strike
Bright eyes burning like fire
And exposing every weakness
However carefully hidden by the kids

Who will love a little Sparrow
Who's traveled far and cries for rest
Spare him his life from this monstrosity

I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all
And if the band youre in starts playing different tunes
We will we will rock you
We will we will rock you!

Wow, you all have really cool reasons for how you designed your sns.

Mine's not that great, unfortunately. I created my screen name about four or five years ago by combining the name of Stupendous Man (from Calvin and Hobbes) with the title of the show Batman Beyond (Note: I like the "original" Batman as well, but I liked the fact that the "new" Batman was a chivalrous teenager).

So no, the SMan part is NOT short for Superman, although I like him too (even though both Batmans are cooler :) ).

waaaay back in High school. I got called Skins, which was an acronym of my name S Atkins.

Later a fewg uys started messing with Skins and its pronounciation, Skeeans Skiiuns and eventually Skynes. It later stuck. Now I use skynes in every game, every website, every postboard, every sign in name. I am Skynes

The Griffin is a mythological animal (half bird half lion) that protects golden treasure. I think it's a cool beast so I shortened it to Griff and added Golden to make it sound better. Of course I could have come up with some other name but that would have taken too much energy :)

Mechana 2015 is actually the name of the comic I'm working on right now, and that originated as a misspelling of machina as in Deus Ex Machina which is* Latin* for God out of the machine, so actually it wa ment to mean machine. But I mispelled it. Sounds better that way anyways, though I can be somewhat machine like at times (due to bizarrely high levels of endurance).

Pent was actually the main character of a story I wrote. Then Fire Emblem came out. So a character named Pent was really cool in two different stories so I thought I would usethe name. Short and simple name to.

:eyebrow:

That's Latin. Deus ex machina means "God out of/from the machine" in Latin.

... sorry, pet peeve of mine. :red:

On that note...

"Ante furem" (as I said in my intro post... but who checks that board anyway? ) means "before the thief" in Latin.

Got it from Jesus' "thief in the night" parable.

"Ante" has two meanings - it can mean "before" as in "prior to" or as in "standing in front of". Both are representations of preparedness - as we must be prepared before Christ comes.

I  Latin...

Bumping is not allowed in non-Goof Off forums, for any reason. However, given that the thread is somewhat old and there may have been new members, I'll let this stand.

My name originates in the famed Ducky Goggles... Mikas got 'em for her birthday and wore them to school all year and then she gave them to me for my birthday... my user title is due to the fact that I was feeling mopey and wrote it half in jest, although I rarely stick with things and now I can't think of anything better to put there...

I've used the handle "ClosetOtaku" at a number of places, including BoardgameGeek (my first and true passion -- boardgaming!) as well as Sekai no Hajimari, the authoratative Haibane Renmei discussion board.

For me, the handle came naturally. Anime doesn't have a good reputation in many Christian circles. Older men (like myself) aren't supposed to have an interest in it (and I have met some creepy older men online who I suspect are pedophiles who are really into some of it)... so I've been cautious who I share this 'hobby' with. The recent release of some titles (including Mononoke Hime and Spirited Away), I've felt a little more comfortable talking about anime....

Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.

I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

Cephas is from the Bible. It is another name for Peter, but my name is not really Peter, Cephas is also another name, but my name will not be said...ANYWAYS...the VI which is SUPPOSED to be VII was added because 7 is God's number, and it was mentioned several times in the Bible, and because someone else had the name Cephas so I had to change it...but he is not here anymore! So I guess you could call me Cephas... whoo...there, I said it all. Excuse me...*flops on the floor*
