greet0rings, i am somewhat of a refugee from AO. I stumbled across this site looking for anime DVDs actually. Strange huh?

AO got too hard up about things so i was in forum limbo for a while. It's a shame i can't talk about some of my favorite anime's here (i.e Evangelion and Angel Sanctuary) but we'll see how things go. I still have Ah! My Goddess :-P

Hi welcome to Caa!

I'm Mangafanatic (a.k.a Osaka). Feel free to PM me if you have any questions. Actually, that really goes for almost all of the memebers here. They're all really nice. You'll like it. :)

Well, do you read any manga? If so, what series?

Have fun here, and post a lot.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

thank you for the greetings ^_^

@Ssjjvash: oh dear, its like our bible study's extra curricular alcohol-less drinking game X_x, put some Code Red and Berry Sprite in there and we're ready for business. 'Ok everyone, we're watching Judge Dread tonight, everytime someone gets shot or the word "law" is said take a shot' (this was actually done)

@Mangafanatic: thank you, i may end up PMing you with specific questions, are you an OP? (oh yeah, how can i tell who's an OP?).

As far as manga is concerned i generally read whatever looks interesting if i can afford it O.o. Specifically, i am a fan of Masamune Shirow, Kenichi Sonoda, Ken Akamatsu, Fujishima Kosuke, Rumiko Takahashi, some CLAMP and Yu Watase. Right now i am reading Negima! and just finished reading Et Cetera. Next on my list is Cross and Chono Crusade. I have many others on hiatus which i have 3-8 books from the series.

@Angelchick: thank you, i do as well.

Welcome! Is the "Asakura" in your name a Shaman King reference? *curious*

Oh, and your sig only shows up once per page, so only your first post will have your sig showing. It's not faulty or anything; it just saves on a lot of scrolling. ^__^

@Aka-chan: Actually it's reference to the band headed by one of best composers in teh J-pop business Daisuke Asakura. He started with i belive Access and from there he was integral with a band named Iceman. Iceman has since disbanded but Daisuke is still arranging and composing with his own solo project and does all the composing/arranging for T.M. Revolution. Access has now been revived by Daisuke and teh lead singer for Iceman, Kenichi Ito. Daisuke's style has not changed that I know of since at least Iceman so if you like TMR you'll probably like Iceman. Some Iceman and Access songs are played in Gravitation actually (only anime Daisuke has music in that i know of). If you were interested in hearing them I would reccomend the Gravi OSTs, they are arranged nicely and available in the US.

I also just found out that Daisuke has also produced and worked with fayray, RUN&GUN, yuki kimura, kinya kotani, yousuke sakanoue (sings super drive), pool bit boys, and others.

thank you all for the greetings

Welcome abaord, Iceman Asakura. Eva discussions are not allowed, but you can talk about it with other interested parties through Private Messages. If I were an Eva fan interested in discussing it with other fans here at CAA (and there are quite a few), I would consider starting a new thread in the anime section stating something like this:

"Hello. I am a big Evangelion fan and I would like to discuss and share it with others who like it as well. Since Eva discussions are not allowed in the forums, I thought we could all post here so we would all know who is interested so we could PM each other. Perhaps we could also set up a chat session on AIM as well."

I don't think such a thread would be forbidden by the mods as long as everyone sticks to posts like "I am interested" and avoid saying why is is or is not a good anime. Perhaps the mods would even sticky it so other noobs could find it and join the group with out disturbing the peace of the boards.

Just a thought.

Hm, noted. Although i do indeed like Eva, i don't feel the need to start any kind of conversation about it. As i am more the person who would discuss once the subject was brought up. I suppose i must be careful if responding to questions involving opinion of best anime or reccomended anime. On that note, would it be acceptable to reccomend Eva? Or is it simply more of blanket statement Eva being disallowed in neigh everything except basic reference? Perhaps i will PM an Op/Mod about it.
