New 'Star Wars' television series announced.

Introducing Star Wars: Rebels.Screenwriter Simon Kinberg (X-Men: First Class) will serve an executive producer on the series and pen the premiere episode. He is joined by exec producers Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) and Greg Weisman (Young Justice, The Spectacular Spider-Man).

The thing that makes me most excited for this is that they said they are using McQuarrie's concept art. Greg Weisman is also co-creator of Gargoyles.

Aw man, this is looking great. I like the more realistic approach, and that "B-17-inspired" starship looks something right out of the original movies, as it should.
