Is anyone going to attend? Just wondering.

Celebration V event details
Let others believe in the God who brings men to trial and judges them. I shall cling to the God who resurrects the dead.

I boycott this gathering on principle. The site says that it celebrates all things Star Wars. I cannot in good conscience support anything that celebrates the Star Wars Holiday Special, Ewoks cartoon/comics, or the prequel movies.

All Star Wars fans hate the holiday special and the ewok crap.

The prequels however are debateable. I actually enjoy them(save for the insufferable Jar Jar Binks).

I'm saying what the header at the top of the website says. It says,

"The official LucasFilm event celebrating all things Star Wars."

See that? The official website says "all." ALL. ALL things Star Wars. Those are things that are Star Wars. Even if the fans do not like those things, the convention is still celebrating them. I cannot support something that celebrates those things I mentioned, and if the fans agree with me then they should refuse to go to! At the very least, the official website should be changed to say "celebrating MOST things Star Wars." Then it would be up to the individual to determine what they are celebrating.

EXCEPT even George Lucas admits that the Holiday Special was baddd and refuses to ever allow it come out on DVD so by canonical requirements it's not Star Wars.

What about say a Christianity celebration celebrating all things Christian. Well some things labeled Christian have not been the best like the Crusades and Inquistion.

Jon Stewart will be at this event?

I can only hope that he talks about this a bit on The Daily Show.

If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things."

As big as a Star Wars nerd as I am, I won't be there, but it sounds like fun.

Man, I should really go to this. It is practically being held in my back yard. I think I am going to be out of town for that week, though. I need to find out.
