CAA: Christian Anime Alliance

It's happened to the best of us--we're determined to watch a movie straight through; "This time will be different!" You pop in the DVD, get comfortable, and the next thing you know, you're waking up to loud end credit music.

For me, the movies that knock me out are:

Star Trek: The Motion Picture - I'm mostly in the movie for about 20 minutes, then the second the Enterprise flies into V'Ger, I'm dead to the world!

The Adventure of Milo and Otis - Cutest movie I've ever seen before in my life, but the soft music always sends me off to dreamland.

So...what movies knock you out?

Mostly any generic black and white movies. Something about no colour... just makes me sleep. Plus the music is usually soft and whatnot... Oh yeah, I can get good sleep off those ^^

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.

No, seriously, I like the movie. But when the Civil War battles came around, I literally fell asleep on the couch. I don't care about some random Yankees, I want Clint Eastwood! I woke up in time for the finale though.

Well I would have to say really long ones like LOTR ones that take forever to get through.

Oh yes, LOTR: Return of the King made me sleepy. It was almost 4 hours long. Also for some odd reason I slept during Children of Men.

I see films only rarely, so they are generally ones I wish to see. The only instance was watching Godspell during a youth retreat, and that had more to do with having not slept in the past two days.

Any chick flick.

when i went to my friends house for an all-night LOTR movie marathon, i fell asleep during the third movie for about twenty minutes...

March of the Penguins. Slow-paced content + Morgan Freeman = dead in ten minutes' time.

Also, I fell asleep during An Affair to Remember. It's funny, because that's one of those movies that all women are supposed to absolutely fall in love with.

I actually laughed through the parts I was awake to see. XD

I have yet to see a movie that put me to sleep. Although I do tend to only watch ones that I have some sort of interest in. Also, I turn off movies that are that boring. Just seems like a waste of time to me.

Whenever my mom is watching a calm black and white film on TCM. I just can't keep up with it and eventually...

All I can say is I'd have to be really, really tired (I mean like stayed up for 24 hours or more) to fall asleep to ANY movie....even if I've seen it for what seems like a million times the chance of me falling asleep whle watching any movie (even one I find either detestible or uninteresting) are a million to ten....

Tim Burton's Batman movie. It put me to sleep not once, but twice. It started out kinda neat, but I fell asleep around the middle/end both times. I think I've only sat through the whole thing without falling asleep once. @_@

I've never fallen asleep during a movie, not once. Not even that one time at a sleepover at 3:00 a.m. when Monty Python put everyone else to sleep. I was the only one who stayed awake through it all, though I was so tired I couldn't even laugh anymore. I had this vague idea that I would find it funny normally, but I was too tired to figure out why

I went to the movies with a friend, because we were bored. There were literally no good movies playing, but he insisted we go see a terrible movie called The Order starring Heath Ledger.

Its poor theology and nonsensical plot caused me to pass out about a third of the way into the movie. He loved it, but then again, he hates religion.

I can't really remember any movies making me fall asleep...if I fall asleep, it's because I'm tired.

And usually, when a movie gets boring for me, I just get up and leave.

How come everyone is dissing LOTR?
I don't think any movie has truly made me fall asleep. I love long movies with soft music. (Such as Lord of the Rings and Pans Labyrinth) They keep me awake to be honest. The only thing that'll put me to sleep is me being tired. :/ And usually only when I am lieing down to watch it. I can't sleep sitting up. Ever. o.o

ST2M, that version of The Good, the Bad, & the Ugly was the special edition.

Anyway, for me, it'd be The Quiet Man and 2001: A Space Odyssey. Both movies take their sweet time and start lulling me to sleep each time.

Oh yeah! I forgot all about "2001"! The fact that it doesn't have much dialogue, and it's full of classical music is a sure sleep inducer for me! Though, it is a pretty good movie!

As much as I like LOTR, I will admit if I watch them at home... I am out cold midway through.

Although, it would be nice to see that trilogy again.

Monty Python put me to sleep... a lot. I don't have the attention span or the gravy for such dry British humor

The only time I have come close to falling asleep is during a few of the old and one of the newer Star Wars movies... haha sadly enough.

Most likely it is simply because they are rather long. People fall asleep during movies because they are sleep deprived, not because the movies are actually that boring. Believe me, there are times I wish I could sleep through something.

I watched this because it was a classic and I'd already read the book... I couldn't take it. The pacing was ridiculously slow. Though I finished it, I fast-forwarded through any part without talking or anything actually happening.

Yeah, I thought making a movie trilogy out of LOTR was a tall order. Especially when all the real action happens in the second book. One movie that really almost put me to sleep: The Matrix Revolutions.

2001: A Space Odyssey

Milo and Otis (major kudos to the blue socks dude for mentioning it), Gone with the Wind (oh, I loathe that movie) and by far what I consider the worst movie in history:

CITIZEN KANE

Good heavens, we spread it out over a week in my history class in high school and I fell asleep almost every day. It was horrible.

I don't think I've ever actually fallen asleep during a movie I was consciously trying to watch (as opposed to me taking a nap in a room where there happened to be a TV showing a movie)

Syriana. What an unbelieveably boring movie.

Sadly, I can hardly sit through any movie and stay awake, anymore....

*le sigh*

I've never actually fallen asleep during a movie. My mom, on the other hand...has she seen the end of anything...?
