Let's see just how much we know about America's favorite dysfunctional family! I'll post a question, then the next poster answers it and posts one of his/her own. Here we go:
1. Before he created The Simpsons, Matt Groening created his own comic strip. What was the title?

1.Life In Hell

2.What show did The Simpsons originate on as a sketch?

Tracy Ulman, or however the heck you spell her name...

I can't think of any questions, though, so someone else will have to do the next one

Who is the only member of the Simpsons family not to be named after a member of the creator's family? (I heard this on Who Wants to Be A Millionaire once)

Bart. Bart was supposed to be Creator, Matt Groening, but he thought it would be too egotistical to name him Matt...

What real city was Springfield based on (initially, not throughout the show)?

Please don't tell me it's Springfield,Illinois,I mean the name and everything would make that sound like a too obvious answer.

Nope. According to the "Behind the Laughter" ep. It's Springfield, Kentucky.
OK, time for a new question.
What does The Simpsons have in common with the video game Kingdom Hearts, the Disney movie The Return of Jafar and the Aladdin TV series?

All were straight to home releases?

Dan Castlenatta (spelling?) was the voice of Homer and the genie. ^_^ (And on a side note, Robin Williams voiced the genie in the first and third Aladdin movies.)

My question: How long has the series been running for?

I believe it's on it's 17 season.

Question: with a few of the voice actors passed away (just found out about one yesterday, or moreso, new the person died but didn't know they played those roles :/), what was their main voice roles on the show? (one has 2... just re-looked it up and noticed that)

So are you asking which Simpson's actor died and who did they play on the show?

Actually, it's springfield, OR. Neighboring town to Eugene Oregon, where Matt grew up. Sorry it took me so long. Within episode hints don't really count, because they're all red herrings put there intentionally. Springfield in the show doesn't share GEOGRAPHY with springfield, OR, but he viewed the town the same way as the real Springfield, OR.... This is stuff they reveal on the DVDs. He didn't want it directly tied to any point of geography, though. Hence the constant red herrings and inconsistant geography of the simpsons and spitting in the face of fans who argue about it (like that "northern kentucky" line, the desert "three times the size of texas" and the constant shifting of major points, like lakes, rivers, the ocean, mountains)

One voice actor played Bleeding Gums murphey, and he was a real Jazz musician that died, I'm not sure in what time frame relative to his role...

Then there was Lunch Lady doris. I don't know when she died, but they retired her character afterward.

Then there's Lionel Hutz / Troy McClure / various other characters played by the late, great Phil Hartman, who was murdered by his wife in 1998... They gave a dedication to him at the end of the Disney release of "Kiki's delivery service", since he played Jiji the cat in the Disney Adaptation. Those are all of the voice actors from the simpsons that I know died.

Very well. What was Hans Moleman's original name as it appeared on his driver's license in his first appearance?

Oh wow, I didn't know he actually died in real life. So yeah, I was of course refering to the other 2 since I didn't even know about him.

I forget the title, but it was the "Flaming Homer/Moe" one.

Nope. Aerosmith was in that one. The Chilli Peppers showed up when Krusty had his 25th anniversary.
OK, here's an easy one:
What is Marge's maiden name?

Bouvier is Marge's maiden name.
On Treehouse of Horror XVII, what did they do with blob Homer at the end of the episode?

I didn't see it,but I would say they ate him?

They put him at a homeless shelter behind the door, and every person that walked in the door would get eaten. (There was no inside to the building, either.)
