Head-On Commercial!

You know the commercial...checkered background...creepy looking lady with a tube of what appears to be paste hovering above her forehead.

Then you hear the words--

HeadOn--Apply directly to the forehead! :hits_self
HeadOn--Apply directly to the forehead! :hits_self
HeadOn--Apply directly to the forehead! :hits_self

It's addictive, it's repeatitive, it's subliminal...but does it work?!

it worked too well, the company had to reduce the times the ad aired because people were complaining about it.

You can't be serious... subliminal studies show that they really don't work :/

And what is this commercial for anyways?

The theory behind this ad campaign is:

"If you didn't have a headache BEFORE you saw the commercial..."

It'd be nice if they told us what they were selling. =D

Watch as I blithely rub a glue-stick across my forehead, while horrible audio loops endlessly!

Well, even if it were some sort of wonder treatment or headaches, I'd still pop an Aleve. Their ads are so inane and pathetic that I refuse to purchase their products.

If I was the person in charge of Head-On, I would seize the advertising guy and beat him to the point that even dental records won't identify him.* This trash is inexcusable.

.rai//

*Not really ~ I'm actually a nice and forgiving guy. I'm sure the advertising guy is a nice, hardworking . . . idiot.

Know what the funny thing is?

"Chemical analysis has shown that the product consists almost entirely of wax."

Basically it's a placebo. Completely useless. :p

If I remember right, it's for a headache remedy. Supposedly.

Most people I know, including myself, know the commercial. And hate it.
And say that BECAUSE of the commercial, they will never buy the product.
So I wonder then, who DOES the commercial work for? Who actually does buy it? :eyebrow:

ROFL, this commercial. I hate it. I really, really do. XD And I wholeheartedly agree with Mith. XD

I can't even remember the commercial.Maybe my memory is bad or I just didn't see it.

The earliest studies of subliminal messages were done in movie theaters.Supposedly a sign was flashed that had Popcorn on it and the way it worked was people were supposed to get up and go buy more popcorn.Of course it was supposed to have flashed so fast that no-one was supposed to see it.

Gah, this commerical was annoying. I didn't know what it was for and now that I know, I doubt it works. :[

I wouldn't buy ANY of their products. EVER. Horrible ad, and horrible packaging. Everything about them seems like a bunch of unprofessional people working out of their garrage. If they don't even have the intelligence to come up with a decent ad, I doubt they have the intelligence to come up with a good remedy for headache medicine.

The only thing about the commercial that works is you actually remember the name of the product. But that's useless if you hate the company with a blind rage. XD

Picture a blue grid background with a lady dressed in red. She's rubbing (Actually, if you look close, she's hovering) something that looks like a gluestick (The Product) over her forehead. There's a bright yellow arrow pointing at her forehead.

Meanwhile, a female is repeating "HeadOn: Apply directly to the forehead!" three times in a row.

I need SERIOUS help if I remember a commercial that well...

XDD Not necessarily. I mean, it's not like the commercial is very complex or anything. And it gets shown often enough for anyone to remember it that well. XD

Not true. The only reason I didn't remember the blue grid background, is because I usually hear the commercial rather than see it. Strangely, I'm almost never looking at the TV when it's on. But the whole thing is just a picture, with the person repeating the words. That much I remember. It's like you wonder if it's a real commercial or not...
But being the commercial only lasts like ten seconds, and it annoys you to death, THAT'S why you remember it. NOT because you need serious help. If that's the case, then MOST of us need serious help! :dizzy:

GAH! HELP!

Kae was right on the money--HeadOn is basically a candle with a crushed up aspirin mixed in it minus the wick.

There's also another product sometimes advertised with HeadOn called...you guessed it, "ActiveOn", which is basically the same thing except it's in a red tube and it's just as criptic in what it does as HeadOn!

I finally glimpsed a bit of it yesterday and it was a green and not a blue screen.

There were two versions made. A green and a blue one. The blue one just advertises HeadOn, the green one has the original HeadOn add, plus an add for ActiveOn, then one for Freedem Hemerroid (SP?) cream. (Go on and laugh.)

Blue was regular, green was for migraines.
