This movie is so hilarious! These guys took an old kung fu movie and redubbed it. It's really great. I put it up there with 'Pirates of the Carribean'. Anybody else seen it?

I had completely forgotten that this movie existed! The previews looked pretty funny, I may have to check this one out some time.

I wouldn't go so far as to call this a great movie, but at times it is wonderful. When it's good, it's usually very good. Also, it is one of the most quotable movies ever.
"Tiger. Tiger. Tiger. Birdy. Birdy. Birdy."

Indeed. And you can't lose when the villain is named Betty, and he has help from French aliens.

And the ending is truly classic. We all agree Kung Pow was a "stupid movie" (no insult intended, they were aiming for that), and that is the perfect way to end a stupid movie. "Next time..."

Agreed. That reminds me...I haven't seen the movie in a while. Perhaps I should buy it on dvd.

Kung Pow has to be one of the funniest, stupidest, cleverist movies to have ever been released. However, I saw it in theaters, and thought it was the funniest thing ever. When I rented it, however, most of the humor had worn off for me. Don't get me wrong, its a great comedy, but I suggest seeing it once.
"Does it hurt?"
"Does it hurt? You just broke a thermometer in my hand!"

I agree. It isn't exactly a subtle film, so one viewing is probably enough to get the full comedic value; unless of course you like it as much as I do.

I watched it... Some things were funny, but for the most part I didn't find it funny... It wasn't so horrible it would make me go postal on a hong kong set, nor good enough to place in my faves... It just wasn't that specacular... I prefer Leslie Neilson for my stupid humour...

I thought it was quite ingenious, how all of the CG worked with some very talented dubbing to produce the most stupidity ever seen on a screen!
Amazing and a classic.

I thought Kung Pow was really funny, but it seemed like an online spoof. I saw it at Walmart yesterday for $3.

Now that would be disturbing to see. And they'd actually probably do it in a movie like Kung Pow (breaking of ribs while laughing, I mean).

Steve Odekerk (the movie's writer, director, producer and star) is one of the funniest people alive. He's writen, directed, produced or stared in, so many good movies. To name a few: Patch Adams, Ace Ventura 2, Nothing to Lose, Bruce Almighty, Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, and all of the thumb movies.

I certainly wasn't aware of that... very interesting. That does put him very high up there, perhaps on Dave Barry level.

"Neo---Duh nuh nu nu nuh--Sporin--Duh nuh nu nu nuh"
Very funny movie. At first I expected only the first couple of scenes to be dubbed like that, but then the whole movie was. Pretty funny, though.

You're right about Dave Barry, but you're also off topic. That's deserving of an entire other thread. I know Cephas is a fan as well, it might actually work.
