Which is better?

So, sparked by a conversation in the CAA chat between myself and Kkun, which 80s movie is better...Beverly Hills Cop or Labyrinth? Obviously, the clear winner is Labyrinth, which is way better than Beverly Hills Cop in every conceivable way.

Oh, and please vote on the poll only if you have seen both movies. I want this to be fair, after all.

Ah the 80's, when you didn't have to have a plot or anything as long as you had a big name celebrity... ;)

I Found Beverly Hills Cop mildly less annoying

Did Henson hang in an amusement park ride and crack funny jokes? Bah.

Uh, isn't this kind of like Apples and Melons? I don't really think, considering their respective target audience and genres, that you can compare the two. But I voted for Labirynth because its the only one of the two I watched.

They are very different sort of movies and that's the fun of it. I enjoyed the Labyrinth far more, but The Dark Crystal owns all!

Sigh. I knew Beverly Hills Cop would get annihilated on CAA but that's because you're all nerds! NERDS, I SAY! NERDS!

...

I'm kidding, of course.
Kind of.

Sounds like some subversive revisionist Edgar Allen Poe.

W4J Poe wrote:And Darkness and Decay and the Dark Crystal held illimitable dominion over all.

Once again BSJ confounds everyone with an obscure reference.

Labyrinth definitely. It is a favorite of mine. Imaginative world, excellent puppet work, fun characters, and Jennifer Connelly was great in it. Classic.

Though I agree with BSJ. It is a bit of a strange comparison

Oh, and W4J, while I do like Labyrinth more than Dark Crystal, I would certainly agree that DC was a great movie.

Edit: <looks above> We have to have seen both? Darnit. I've only seen bits of BHC. Ah well. I should go rent it one of these days, though. I do like 80's.

I didn't vote because I haven't seen Labyrinth, but Beverly Hills Cop pwned. I loved those movies.

The biggest problem with Beverly Hills Cop? Sequels. As usual they got progressively worse, then the TV stations just show endless repeats of the latter films thus leaving you with a very bad taste in your mouth for those movies. Labyrinth though was a one shot deal and didn't suffer from endless repeats and so lingers somewhere in the fond recesses of your memory and holds status as a golden classic.

That and Labyrinth was fun, though with mild witchcraft type elements, whilst Cop suffered more from bad language and innuendo etc.

One word...

Goonies.

Bowie>>>the entire world.

Even so, this is a tough call, but I HAVE to go with Labyrinth. I adore that movie. And David Bowie. All hail the eye-makeuped (whee, made up a new word) Bowie.

I've seen Beverly Hills Cop recently, but not Labyrinth. I should rent it on my next renting spree.

I think I watched part of Labyrinth as a child, in the middle of my neurotic stage. Considering that ET, Alf, the flying gorillas from The Wiz, and the flying dog from Neverending Story terrified the spit out of me (among other things), I probably couldn't handle it as a 6 year old and never watched the whole thing. XD

Labyrinth shall forever be a paragon of the fantasy genre, and helped define my childhood.

Guess what I voted for? ;)

Well, I go with Labyrinth.

Because in the movie, David Bowie looks like a real life Folken from Escaflowne.
